Keep getting Invalid Cd Key

Hey guys, thought this would be the right kind of forum to ask.

I recently bought some new games which register by steam keys (Darksiders from Get Games, and the latest humble indie bundle).
I tried the Darksiders key a couple of times, and Steam keeps saying it's invalid.
Same with the Humble Bundle Keys.

Now even old keys (which I know work) display as "invalid", instead of "you already own this game".

Have I hit some internal limit to the amount of times I can try? How long does it last? Anyone else having trouble?

Best answer to this thread wins a Eufloria key, just because ;)

If you try to activate too many keys that have already been redeemed you will be locked out for about 1 hour.

I believe the limit is 3.

You can also be locked out for putting in a really high amount of keys that haven't already been redeemed. I think for that, it's somewhere around 10-15.

Never got a mention of already redeemed keys, just invalid ones.

Does the same rule apply? I did go a bit apeshit and checked the Darksiders key 3 times or more ...

Will check humble bundle keys again in an hour.

Maybe one of the keys was invalid and when you tried to activate the valid key, you got the "invalid key" message because you've already been blocked. Maybe the Darksiders key is invalid because of what AJValentine said

Happened to me yesterday, tried to activate a key, first thing I did on Steam all day. Steam completely hung for a minute and then gave me "invalid". After an hour, it worked fine. My guess was that when it hung, it sent it a bunch of requests all at once and locked me for the hour.

When you enter a high number of keys in your Steam client, you'll be blocked for an hour.
Try again later, maybe it'll work

there has been some bad experiences with Get Games. they issued keys, and then revoked them saying they hadn't been paid for. for some strange reason. What you need to do is contact support and express your displeasure

EDIT: as for the other keys, darksiders etc. that issue may have been brought around by said Get Games issue. Giving you dodgy keys.

I guess it all depends which you entered first

I entered the Darksiders Get Games key first ... that will have been the culprit, probably.

I'll check back in an hour. If everything works then,
I'll PM Goatroth with the Eufloria key, and I've got one Crayon Physics Deluxe key left, will give that to AJValentine.
