yeah I do not much that much TB,don't know about that,but cmon...the stuff he tried,it was like the experiment with the bottle of water,the fixed vase and the peanut and he was the kid trying to force his hand into the vase ... although succesful

To be fair to Bad Rats, TotalBiscuit is abysmal at puzzle games. He couldn't even figure out what the hint system was showing him. (TB can and does miss basic game details in many games. It shows the most in puzzle games and the least in FPS, but incidents are present in a lot of his videos.) That can make it a bit more difficult to judge puzzle games by his videos.
Even taking that into account, Bad Rats still looked bad, and largely unnecessary when there are so many free Flash games that do the same physics puzzles.

Being able to find alternate solutions in any puzzle game that gives the player many options isn't strange.
Physics puzzles, at least when you get a fair amount of control and have things bouncing around and reacting, are all about options. Part of the charm of physics puzzles is trying to tweak an unintended approach into a success.

I'll agree that it was awkward seeing him fail so badly on the second puzzle. However, while that might reflect poorly on him, that's not a point in BR's favor. As seen in the first puzzle, having the placement trivially wrong, or just getting unlucky, can mean that you don't succeed even though you got the right solution. And as seen in the second puzzle, even if you get things completely wrong, you can still succeed just by luck.
The argument wasn't "I'm bad at this game, so it's terrible."

That's the nature of physics based puzzles, being able to find unintended solutions through the complex interactions of multiple parts. When that element isn't present, it isn't so much a physics based puzzle as it is a regular "find the right action sequence" puzzle with some extra animation.
I'm not really trying to defend Bad Rats. Like I said, it looks average to bad even by free Flash-based physics puzzles.

I don't have Bad Rats, so I can't tell you. I've got plenty of Crazy Machines, and those are ok in small doses, but I wouldn't want to play more than 15 minutes at a time:)

It's bad, but not terrible. I played quite a bit of it and it was fine. A bit tasteless and required too specific or circumstances for success than I would like. So I played it and deleted it. But to go on about how bad it was beyond that is a bit over board.

It's a disgusting game. The premise is meant to be funny, but the way it turned out isn't at all. With the humor non-existent it just leaves rats mutilating a cat every single level in horribly violent ways. There's no revenge, only pointless gore and animal cruelty. That's not even touching on its crappy gameplay system, which really wouldn't matter much if the game itself had some charm. It really is deserving of all of the hate it gets.

I played it. Beat it. And actually didn't hate it. YES luck is stupid in a physics game, but it had a weird...charm? If you could call it that.

I just played it , it might not be the best game out there, but it is one of the better games of it's type , much better than Crazy Machines .
