Star Wars: The Force Awakens Discussion Thread (Spoiler Free)

Just saw it. While there are some flaws and it wasn't an instant slam dunk in my first impression, it's still a very worthy addition to the series. Certainly better than any of the prequels, and kind of hard to compare right now to the original trilogy due to the ways action-oriented cinema has changed over the years as well as the fact that Force Awakens has only been out for a weekend and we've been watching and venerating the classics for 30+ years.

The more I think about the movie and the more I process it and imagine what might be in store down the line, the more I'm drawn to it and the new universe so I have a feeling it will age well. I'll just say that things are in place for enthralling episodes 8 & 9 and I hope they are able to improve on it and hit a stride similarly to how The Empire Strikes Back improved on A New Hope.
