I backed the kickstarter but haven't gotten around to playing it yet, but honestly trying to beat an original of that quality is a losing task on concept level alone. Outside of going full limited chunky pixel and crunchy audio, there's just no way to capture the feeling. Heck even TJ&E 2 couldn't pull it off. Though I'm pretty sure the original is on steam too somewhere, so we're all good either way :3

TJ&E 2 wasn't baaaaaaaad, but it was very forgettable imo. Also played it with my dad, but didn't really enjoy it. The original is part of SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis collection, with the game being available for one buck iirc. Worth it.
