You know that free €2- Kinguin gave a few days ago? I used it to buy Savage Lands, today I got this message.

Lucky it was free, but ohh well... At least I also learned to not buy stuff from there the easy way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Small update: Kinguin is willing to help but I need an unedited screenshot of the error message above, which is a problem since the error message is gone.... Is there a way to view the error message again?

So Kinguin is revoking everyone's key or a case of an unlucky buy from a seller?

Im guessing its not kinguin, sience only the dev can revoke the keys.

That was the dev revoking the keys. Usually when they have a deal with a store like humble bundle, for instance, if something shady happens to that store, they would ask the dev to revoke those keys and give them new ones. That only work for official resellers though, wich is not the case of kinguin/G2A. Thats reasonable, because if you allow gray market sites to revoke keys, they could cause damage to honest buyers (or even dishonest) and they could hurt the dev with a chargeback.
Of course, the only exception are those devs that are partners with that gray market, but i think this is not that case.

Probably the latter :/

It was probably a key from the recently humble survival bundle that turned out to have been bought with a stolen credit card, so it's likely that it was humble that revoked the key.

In this period there was a free beta for this game if you can get a code from their site..I think someone sold you their beta code xD and all beta codes expired on 21..

Are you talking about Savage Resurrection, cause I traded my good game for that and thought it was a great deal, then got the game removed all of the sudden and learned it was a beta key, but whatcha can do - it's life. :)

It could be the free beta key, or it could be that it was bought with a stolen credit card. But to be fair, its the same risk you run at steam when you trade gifts. Second hand keys are always risky. I use G2A often and never had a problem myself. Im guessing kinguin is just as safe (not sure if they give you back your credit as G2A does). A few tips to make buying second hand keys safer (still not 100% guarantee) in the future: Make sure it is the version of the game you paid for and not a beta (you can find that info on steam) before you rate the seller, make sure there is a reason behind its price (for instance, if it costs 10% its steam value, i would buy only if it was on a massive giveaway or bundle recently), also i would avoid buying any valve game on those websites (usually their price is almost the same as the steam store, and when they are lower, its really suspicious), and finally, always check if the game is having a free beta running. Still, this just reduces the risk, but even doing all this, you could get your keys revoked.

Just one last thing: im not sure when you purchased it, but on G2A, the seller doesnt get paid untill 14 days have passed, so in case kinguin works the same, you could contact live support there and show them that picture, maybe you get another copy, your cash, or maybe at least the seller gets banned or loses his credit. Sorry to hear your game was revoked.

It could be the free beta key

Savage Lands != Savage Resurrection so it's highly likely the latter case at this point.

That only works when you pay an extra dollar/euro for "buyers protection".

If you can, give it a try just in case. My friend had a problem once at G2A and even without the insurance thing, they get him in contact with the seller and he got another working copy. Maybe kinguin does the same.

Same here, just be sure to take unedited screenshots of the steam revocation message to include in your ticket, and you'll get the refund eventually (barring abuse of the refund system of course)...although it takes a damn long time to actually have those funds made available in your account again. Just assume ~30 days from start to finish, at least.

Speaking of G2A, they now require sellers to provide proof of purchase past 10 sells on your account which I suppose is theoretically good in a way, but also really bad because selection will decrease and prices will increase there. And I'm sure scammers will just use throwaway sock puppet accounts anyhow.

Kinguin have always smelled dodgy to me. I'd rather pay a buck or two more than deal with those shady shops.
