At all my respect, give away Dota 2 has been a little quickly removed. Now with people can not remain possibilities to receive a treasured gift. And to a condition f2p game yet has not passed. If to count up that everyone playing Dota 2 player has received on 1 gift it turns out no more 30k copies in addition, that basically it is not a lot of. Perfectly thought over system of this site can continue to work for the good of the people, wishing to receive Dota 2. After all demand still is.
Thanks for patience.

Thanks for your opinion, Master Yoda. I'd add it to the pile of information I plan to discard without a second thought.

Since keys have been outlawed for Steamgifts giveaways, these should be dispensed in the forums, or privately.

It's a free game, and virtually everyone who had even the slightest enthusiasm for the game (and many who didn't) now own the game.

The only people griping are those who want to milk contributor points from a freebie.

Anyone who wanted the game either has it, or is able to get it with practically no expenditure of effort.

Concerning contribution points. +10 (or +30) points are, I would tell, not so it is a lot of, but if many abuse it, it is possible to make cost of this game in 1 point.
And so in your words there is a certain sense. Who REALLY wanted - has already received.

People abuse freebies even for a single point. The Gotham City DLC packs are prime example of cynical exploitation of a free giveaway (perhaps these were two points, but it's neither here nor there...).

As I said, if you want to give DOTA 2 away, the forums, or gifting privately are the way to go. If people aren't bothered about contributor status, and simply want to give the game away, this is the obvious solutions. I don't see the issue here...

Keys have been outlawed for Steamgifts giveaways?? When did this happen?

Keys for DotA 2 were never allowed in the first place because they're usually region-restricted.

DOTA 2 keys, yes. General keys, no. It was news to me too until a couple of weeks ago, but it's there in black and white in the FAQ.
