easier to ignore rule breakers than dealing with them.

Basically what Mully said.
Additional option can be that you can really fine-tune who you want to allow to enter. Low level but generous people, people with less than a set amount of CV / games won, only wishlist, or you can even make a giveaway where only people with 0 wins can enter.
But generally used to close out people who broke rules previously / are below a set ratio.

Just like lovol said, to filter entries..
Let's just say that you only want people with X rules to enter your giveaway, and prevent other people who can't pass your rule to enter the giveaway.

You can check sgtools thread here

It's those who go like >5x real cv, atleast >75% public giveaways (which has a distinction to those invite only to a small group or those that make alot of puzzles on the forum) etc etc.

It's used almost exclusively

That's a vast overstatement from proximus, most of the time it's really the activate everything, don't win multiple times annd sometimes with a VAC added to it, not what he applies. Don't defend "almost exclusively" argeuement with 5x real CV and such because that just doesn't make any sense :D

That's a sarcastic extreme from me (but does happen people asking 2x raw ratio or a large amount of public giveaways)
In the middle however alot of times there are atleast ones that require a 0.5 or 1 raw ratio, because that's on atleast 1 out of 10-15 sgtools giveaways, unless i pick the wrong ones.

I am not a fan of sgtools, and it's mixed how people feel about it, and offcourse there is different reasoning for not having activated wins (which shouldn't really require another website to do so) vs ratio requirements and such.

I use it to have a custom group of people enter a giveaway without spamming the group recruitment. I can also alter it to suit the giveaway I am creating. Non-bundles will go to people with a positive ratio because I personally think if someone has won more than they've given they don't need more. Heck, I think I've won way too much!

It also is a nice way to filter out rule breakers such as people who have vac bans, multiple or non-activated wins. Although, I highly recommend checking your winners using the script on the SGTools website. Since this is a self policing website, I tend to make my Bundle games level 0 and "fish" for rule breakers.

Because SGTools has a lot of functionality\reqs to filter entries so you don't have very wonderful giveaway winners and a truckload of re-rolls.

Some people use them to avoid having to deal with rule breakers.

I prefer not to use them in my GA and have the trouble in dealing with rule breakers in hope to clear up SG a tiny bit.
