I didn't get accepted into the beta so I pulled off a trick I used to get the Titanfall beta aswell and it worked.

  1. Contact the origin live support and tell them you got an email saying you were accepted into the beta but it isn't in your origin account.
  2. They should tell you to log in and out and then you will see the game in your library.
  3. Download and have fun yayayayay.

Nice one. Since it's EA, no one is should be unhappy by that. EA are gullible lol.

Nah, it's a beta the more people to stress test the better

That ain't true. Stress testing isn't the same as "throw as much as you can at it". It means to test your shit with as many people as whatever you estimate max load will be, plus perhaps a little more. "The more the better" isn't right, as too many would mean they'd have to rent more and more servers to deal with the added stress. This is a closed beta, by the way, so full stress testing doesn't even come into play yet to begin with, really.

Also, see my reply to Ceatra.

EA Chat Support has actually been really helpful in the past. Blizzard's Chat Support is pretty solid as well.

Gotta love how Valve knows it's on top right now and doesn't have to even come close to that level of support for Steam...

Valve support staff is bitter because Gabe doesn't let them have those famous mobile desks. They are all crammed inside the same room; watching the cool kids doing desk races, releasing stuff only if the feel like it and doing other things hardly descriptible as "work".

In fact, I propose creating a NGO for those poor, neglected support people. They aren't evil, they just have uncovered affection needs.

The beta is worse than BF3, to be honest. It also runs far far worse on my already terrible computer.

Not really. Their middleware is so shit, that they have had TONS of people having this issue, and many like it. The live chat support people most likely don't even have access to the server that handles sending out those emails, not even through a simple front-end, and definitely not to the middleware apps responsible for sending the order out to send an email to a user. In other words, the live support people can't check whether or not you actually did get that email, and if you did get an email, that can still mean the order to add BFH Beta to your account was either suspended in middleware, or got dropped entirely; meaning that anyone who got an email could have no beta added to their account until it was manually added by support, so there's no need to worry about "but I am trying to do this ages after the announcement of the beta", either.

In summary:

  • There's no way for them to check the validity of your claim, and there's no limit to how long your claim could be valid as there's no set time within which the issue will surely have been resolved.
  • Support most likely got told to "just give people the beta access if they complain about it" by their superiors, because of all the hate and negative backlash they received when everything on Origin entirely died for a few days after the announcement of the beta.

The only time they might stop giving beta access is if the dev. says "OK, we got enough people for adequate stress testing, more would be too much for the servers we've rented to handle, please stop adding people". In which case support would simply start denying requests to access the beta with something along the lines of "currently, the beta is closed, and we have had such an enormous response from people so far, that we cannot add more people to the beta, unfortunately." The issue of whether or not you legitimately received an email will never come into consideration.

Regardless, My point is, after too many requests, they'll notice, If they hadn't already. I have no idea how you got to your conclusion, but unless you worked there, Then we don't know anything for sure.

... I got to my conclusions based on having worked in IT for a number of years, some of those years spent working on managing middleware that handles stuff similar to ordering games or game betas off a website (a front-end), which uses middleware to update a database server with order history, as well as a separate DB that stores peoples' game lists. I don't have to have worked at EA specifically to have an understanding of how support lines, middleware, front-ends support use, and backend servers work.

Yes, they most likely know that a lot of the claims of "got email, not in" are fake as hell - they're not idiots, and probably these kind of forum posts are around on more sites than just here, and have been seen by EA already - but my whole point was that there's no way for them to distinguish between legit and illegitimate claims, nor is that what's most important to them now. What's most important, is limiting the gnarly damage to their reputation they suffered when Origin went dead for a few days following the announcement of the BFH beta.
