I've only had the game for 10 months. Damn backlog.

And on 360 if people are curious why it isn't listed in Steam. At least this copy was cheap. Though makes me reluctant to pay much for the PC version just to use mods. :P

Now I've climbed a **** load of stairs, killed two trolls and yelled like a great ninny.

Any cool stuff I should look for now that I'm actually playing this game?

I paid NZ$5. Even if the base version hits 50% off during the next sale, it will be three times the price. I'd need to hope for a price glitch to match what I paid, since I don't think online stores will be selling a copy they have no system to use. :P

Maybe it would be cheapish, but do I really need it a second time just for mods? I don't really bother with them, so would need to be a damn good price.

You'd be surprised at how much life mods can bring into the game. You have quite the selection as well, like goofy ones in that video, to ones that improve the UI, to even completely changing how combat works, and there's some that will add all new questlines and areas. There's a lot more that I can't even think of.

I've never been a big modder. Maybe if playing it on PC first, I'd care, but I struggle just to make myself play these games a second time when getting them on PC like I did with Oblivion and the two Fallout games from Beth. The few mods I used were for leveling quickly, just to speed up the crap.

Comment has been collapsed.

well i can't speak for skyrim(can't run it) but mods can add so much to a game, just wait for the right price and it could be worth your money and your time.
also there is always the option to sell the 360 copy unless you got it digital. of course i doubt it would be worth much since the legendary edtion is out.

The mods people make for PC games is simply amazing. There's nothing that they won't tweak, change and/or improve. Its hardly a surprise that the consoles won't allow mods. Other than voice acting and achievements, there's really no reason to pay for extra content.

I'm sure the Xbox version is ok, but there are some great mods around for the PC version. One of the more useful ones is the "Unread Books Glow" which does what is says on the label. It also highlights books which level up your attributes in a different colour so that they are instantly recognisable.

Another one is the inventory mod which allows you to sort items by weight, value, etc. The original inventory management system sucked like an industrial vacuum cleaner, and kept me from getting into the game until I discovered this awesome mod.

I guess this post is a bit off topic, but perhaps it might be useful to someone :)

I think one of my favorites is the one that makes ore shine. Seriously, in some places ore just blends into the scenery so much you couldn't notice it if you were looking straight at it.

Sadly I think they patched a lot of the fun stuff - like backwards dragons, giant Moon clubbing (although can followers still get Giant's clubs?) but there is lots to do and explore. Also, crafting your own armour, and then enchanting it under the influence of your own perfect potions is surprisingly easy to do and makes you a near-invincible powerhouse early on but it makes things a little boring if you don't like feeling God-like!

dark brotherhood bonus items.

you can get a light armour set that has single handed sneak attacks do double the multiplyer.

add that to the sneak perk that turns daggers into 15X sneak damage and Mehrunes Razor which fully upgraded is about 64 base damage and you can sneak attack kill just about everything in the game.

Skyrim is great (played it on the 360 a good bit, going to buy it this summer sale), but I have to admit, most of the dragon battles are a bit lacking. There really isn't to much to differentiate it from other fighting, which sucks causes I expect fighting dragons to be epic. And they have an annoying tendency to ignore you and attack some other animal in the wilderness in the middle of a fight.

Wonder if there is a pc mod that changes their AI any.

Yes there is a mod called Deadly Dragons that makes the Dragons Hard as f**k the first dragon ever you encounter near the watch tower i took me 1-4 hours to kill him... and i was just in lvl 4 but it also adds TONS of new Dragons.

But i suggest you to use SkyRE with this mod if you want to play the game and feel like you are playing on LEGENDARY :3

Dragon Combat Overhaul. With this mod you have to shoot their wings first is you want to get them on the ground, but you can also kill them in mid air (vanilla dragons always go down after their health goes down to certain percentage). They are also able to do some serious ground attacks that can knock you down. This makes fighting dragons much more fun and less predictable.

Well... you have tons of mods that makes the game harder SkyRE and there is also a mod that makes the dragons harder Deadly Dragons and also some other mods there is also a guy remaking all the Armor mods in skyrim to be more HD This includes both Armors and Weapons The great thing about that mod is that it also does not make your game go CTD(Crash to Desktop) and it also does not conflict with other mods

BUT alwasys be aware to read the desciption for the mods some of them will requier SKSE(Skyrim Script Extender) SKSE This allows modders to make mods much better then what the original CK(Creation Kit) allows you to do also there is some User Inteface like SkyUI whish makes the Inventory better and easier to use but i also add someting called MCM(Mod Configuration Menu) This allows you to configurate your mods. to your favorite test many mods have start to use this beacuse it is pretty good

We also have some Weather mods like Frostfall This make the weather in skyrim more deadly like if you swim you will get wet if you walk in snow you will be cold and to make you dry you need to stand next to fire if you want to be warm you need to stay next to fire also.

And there is Hunting mod Hunterborn This make the hunting in the game much better like you can carry the animals to a places you want them to be. Like to a camp or some other place

Also there is a food mod Realistik needs & Desises This makes the food in the game inportant for once instead for just healt it also adds sleeping into the game so you need to sleep when your character get tired if you are hungry you need to eat if your thirsty you need to drink and so on and on and Alchole is now dangerus for once :D

And also the map! A Quality World Map WITH ROADS! yes that's right now you can see the roads and make it easier for you to not get lost in the game :)

You also have Patches Unofficial Skyrim Patch Unofficial Dawnguard patch Unofficial Heartfire Patch Unofficial Dragonborn patch Unofficial High Resolution patch
These patches fixed around 600000 bugs and problems inside the game all togheter so you wont hit as much bugs that are in the vanilla game.

You want more the one follower? UFO this mod allows you to requiet up to 4000 followers my self i only use 3-4 followers dependingon the diffeculty

Want better looking blood? Enchanted Blood Texture makes the blood look much better! :D

Tired of the beginning of the game where you need to ride the slow cart? Live another life! Changes this! and allows you to start where ever you want!

Dont want the ugly hud to be showing 34/7? Immersive HUD(iHUD) will change that and allow you to turn off and on the hud!

And for the last mod need to sleep...

Tired of those spinning death animations!? Realistic Ragdolls an Force! This will remove those spinning death when you kill an enemy instead he will die like you would do in real life!

WARNING: these are just suggestions :) you do not need to use them if you dont want to!

And yes my grammar sucks im 15 and live in sweden! jizzes

There's a great mod that removes enemy level scaling, so at the beginning of the game you will often have your ass kicked by random mobs and you will have to rely more on stealth/strategies, sometimes even flee, but as you go on you'll eventully feel your progress, unlike vanilla Skyrim.

I have PC games with mod capabilities, doesn't mean I care for it. The open world games like Elder Scrolls and Fallout are already sodding big, I don't need more content. I'll save mods for the smaller games like Portal with new campaigns.

Mods aren't just for more content. They can enhance everything from graphics and UI to AI companions.

Pretty much this
At my first gameplay I don't like mods that adding too much stuff to my game, like armors, weapons, quests and such. I mod my games to fix things that overlooked by Bethesda and to enhance my gameplay...so yeah, my game is heavily modded but pretty much it's still close to vanilla.

Bought the game on PC on release, but I haven't even finished the main questline...spend too much time modding the darn game (and troubleshooting conflicting mods). My skyrim folder is 22.4gb, over 150 mods active at least I think. Got a lot of mods which aren't active in the folder too, though.
