Edit:
https://www.steamgifts.com/group/wcPYr/sgdlcs
(added 50 copies of 3 DLCs).

Just copy pasting from the group description:

After having about 150% rerolls on giving away DLCs on steamgifts (e.g. 17 rerolls for 11 DLCs) I can't take it anymore.

I still have a bunch of DLCs I want to give (and I don't want to drop them randomly).

So this group is for everyone that wants to recieve OR give DLCs on steamgift.

There is literally only ONE group rule:

ALL members have to be aware that you can enter DLCs on steamgifts even if you own them and need to know how to check (and be doing it) if they own said DLC BEFORE entering the giveaway.

Therefore everyone that needs to be rerolled because of "owns the game (DLC) already" will get banned from this group.
My hope is that we can gather enough people here to do giveaways and get some entrys and minimizing the amount of rerolls.

If someone wants to be moderator...
Any lvl 6+ with a good ratio and no infrictions on SG (needs public profile to check) is fine by me.

Ah, and here's the group:

Was that a good idea?

Yes.
Yes, but open membership is worthless, make it invite only.
No, because I'm just not interested in DLCs
No, because the group sucks. (The idea is bad)
No, because you suck.
No.

One plus about making it an open group, you don't have to deal with the fact that Steam group invites never expire, and anyone who has an invitation to a group is treated as a member for the purposes of viewing group discussions. Let me tell ya, that can lead to some unpleasant key leeching.

Downside, an open group tends to make up for it with attracting members of that character into the main group.

Yes I thought about that.
The plan is, that it at least reduces the ratio of rerolls ^^.

Even in an open group you can kick people (and they can not join back without invitation). For a closed group I am not sure if it is possible (for bundles DLCs) to find enough people that are interested in it (same with other smaller groups where people would read the description^^).

PS: I didn't knew about that. Thats sounds really badly implemented (treat invite as member is fine I guess, but that they never expire seems ... unwanted behaviour.

Literally every single time I see DLC giveaway available for me I always check if I don't have it already. If I do, I hide that DLC and I don't need to check that game anymore. This is how I managed to have over 400 of hidden titles by now.

So yes, good idea. I wish more people acted like me.

Same here; why even worry about wasting your points when you already have it? Steamgifts says I have 5,681 hidden games now. Yikes!

Yep, I do that as well.

But most people even lvl4+ seem to not understand the concept of DLCs in SG ;->

I don't know why it's so hard for anyone to do that. The Steam store button is right there for crying out loud

I would understand if level and ratio was a requirement for entering, but I see no point in judging whether a person is fit to be moderator by any of those criteria. At least level could signify some sort of SG experience, but ratio is senseless.

Basically the group should be only loosly moderated.

I could swap that for "active" user with no infriction or anything. I just thought of a requirement that somewhat combines active and "reliable" (in terms of knowing SG and stuff). Guess if someone wants to be moderator that doesn't fit, I guess thats fine as well ^^

The way I imagine the group, moderators are only needed to kick out people that needed to be rerolled, anyways ;->

I agree this is a good idea. I had 9 rerolls on 2 DLCs not long ago.

This is a good idea, I approve. Imagine if all of SG worked like this for everything, not only DLC :P

This is a great idea, in theory. I hope it works out.

Great idea, although not sure if there are enough dlc giveawayers or people in general who are interested in dlcs

uh, bump fo' this.

there's just one little tiny thing: i don't care much of the ban user will get, i do care about creating unneeded tickets, i do call those "dumb tickets" whenever i share a dlc (i usually do that with Whitelist/Playing Appreciated only)

like, it's just a click, and users could save and don't waste Support precious time. a click to show sum respect! :D

that said, i understand that this group/idea is towards that direction. can i ask you if the Group is generating a lot of rerolldumbtickets?

Too be honest, I don't know.

Due to personal reasons I stopped beeing active quite a while ago, and haven't done a giveaway in ages ^^.

But so far I haven't heard any complaints.

Even that is not enough, sadly. But it can't hurt.

I always thought SG might want to insert some extra steps to enter packages/DLCs... like "Are you sure? Are you really sure? Did you check to see if you already own this? Promise? You wouldn't lie to me, would you? Your mother will be very disappointed in you if you've entered this and already own it. Just saying. 'kay?"

yep it's sad, a tad, but still.

very "old" problem, also (plus profile features yadda games).
...only "solution" seems to be that danger sign we usually put in descriptions :D
