Thanks"

Free Forever it looks like. The Licence it added says Sector (Free) and gives the option to remove it. Looks like it has been free since the 19th which is longer than the usual window for a temp-free game.

Probably as always, click "Play Game" button, refresh site and you will see that game was added to your account without downloading anything.

A moment ago I played it for 10 minutes. The damage is done.
Good news, you can delete license from library.

I respect someone else's work, really. That's not my business how much or how little has been done to finish this project. End of story.

Good question is how greedy you have to be to allow products like this appear in Steam Store.
Or what may be even worse, how little authority you have over your own company. Huh, Valve? It seems that there's no quality control, not at all.
This game is like a plastic fork at the royal table.

From a business standpoint, what Valve is doing makes a lot of sense. Let anything that manages to get a certain minimum of interest onto the platform, and let the users of the platform curate the content. Otherwise you'd have to spend money on in-house curators, and with less games on your platform you'd probably have less sales. So, more expenses for less income--not a very good deal.

I agree with that but there should be some selection at the beginning, to separate the wheat from the chaff.
I see no place for such productions as Sector, There are plenty of much better "bad games" on Steam, I don't mind.

Once again, who would do this selection? Additional employees? Then we reach the same conclusion as in my previous post. The only viable answer is the users themselves, which is what we have through reviews and curation.

I mean don't get me wrong, I understand your desire for there to be a greater proportion of good games to bad games on Steam. However, keep in mind that "good" is subjective--a matter of personal preference and taste. I don't quite see what objective standards could be defined to classify a game as good or bad, aside from fundamental things such as that the game runs at all, doesn't crash, corrupt saves, etc.

Ultimately, I think the best thing for Steam users as well would be not to limit admission to the platform, but rather use a combination of reviews, curation and machine learning to learn what each particular user likes, and then prioritize showing the user those games that the system thinks the user will like.

You are making decision to buy a game, do not blame developers for delivering bad product you don't like. If you don't like a game - issue a refund, you're allowed to do that, and before buying a game perhaps judge it yourself from reviews, videos, and screenshots, which are mandatory for every game on steam platform to see if game is worth the price or not.

Imagine Valve putting only AAA games on Steam, with total library of maybe 200-300 games. Personally I'd move to GOG. We don't want that, and GabeN's wallet doesn't want that either.

Personally I'd love to see more games on steam, even the worst crap, as long as game is serious and somebody put serious effort in creating it, even if everybody agrees that the game is utter trash.

P.S. I'm not defending that game, I never ever played it, I just don't like general opinion that every bad game should be removed from store, or "who allows that" - big publishers allow that, and community on steam greenlight.

As I said, I respect developers work and I'm not blaming them. They did as much as they could, I hope so.
This does not change the fact that Sector is far below "really bad game" term. Someone said this in steam review "The gameplay feels like a failed FPS project from the early 90's", it's hard to disagree.
I'm just disappointed by lack of quality control on Steam, no big drama here. :)
Also I would rather to see more than less new games on Steam but imo there should be some exceptions and Sector is one of them.

hate games that are F2P or Free that don't add to your account, I think I already owned this prior to it being F2P so I have it as owned, but meh not really seeing a point if it'll just get removed anyway.

All F2P games should have some low level purchase which locks them into your account.
