If you have creative mind, buy Scribblenauts. Otherwise pick The Walking Dead.

The definition can be very personal, expecially in fringe cases like this. And in the end I think it doesn't even matter that much because I felt good while playing it, and I'd still suggest anybody picking it up!
If you look at the gameplay you barely do anything... mainly you explore a bit the environments, do some quick time events and solve some basic "situational puzzles". And if you describe it this way it sounds dull.
Where it really shines is in story-telling and bonding with the characters through life-and-death decitions. If I really had to, I'd say it's closer to an interactive story (and a good one at it) than an adventure game.
But again it's not that important how you define it. I was simply trying help the OP make is mind with my personal point of view.

Yeah. It's true that it has not got a lot of gameplay and such. So if you expect fast paced action you won't find it here. But you are right, the line between what's a game and what's not is quite blurry.

You should get Bad Rats, the other games are wastes of money.

The Walking Dead compared to Scribblenauts Unlimited is short, if you like creative games choose Scribblenauts, if you don't then buy TWD

I've heard it's dreadful. I would love to try it though, hope it goes on sale and hope that BTTF does that too.

It's still 7,5€ I'll sleep over it. I mean there's too much negative feedback of that game around. Is it really good?

Seriously? But the game fucked up my decisions in chapter 5. Totally.

It depends on your mood I think. If you don't mind something sad now, take TWD. If you want to brighten your day, take Scribblenauts.

Which is, by definition, a game. Although there is a lot of storytelling, there are still some good adventure parts to it.
