Also Skyrim has a lot of replay value if you download mods from the workshop.

If you haven't played either, it doesn't much matter which you get first. Both are great games and nearly identical in gameplay. Each has some features over the other though. 3 has more interesting locations to explore (ignoring the Metro maps), while New Vegas has more interesting story and characters.
