Does anyone have any particular virtual machine setups to recommend for card farming? I have considered this a while ago but haven't tried any setup of my own, but now with the new card drop rates it has become a necessity.

idlemaster will give you sporadic card drops.

Side effects may include a sporadic VAC

Well, it's been out for quite and nobody has gotten a VAC ban for using it.

CSGO and other games can be set to be left out/skipped - in the idlemaster settings ...

Valve Anti CHEAT... so how does idlemaster give you an advantage playing video games, so that Valve has a valid reason for a VAC ban?

Who has been VAC banned for using it? sounds like you're making assumptions regarding something you don't understand.

VAC only applies when you connect to an enabled Server

+1, people should stop being so paranoic.
The VAC system is only enabled on VAC servers. And the servers don't even have the full system on, it's sent part by part when needed, to avoid reverse engineering (I read that a while ago, I can't find the source anywhere right now)

I second this.
I haven't heard about anyone getting banned for using it......steam achievements? maybe. but trading cards? no way. Also,I've been using it for two months now and it works flawlessly with now VAC or even a simple warning.

https://nodejs.org/ with this i think you can farm cards even without installing steam, you could even run it on a raspberry pi or arduino so you can save energy :p

have myself a few in Oracle VM Virtual Box for various purposes > 3x Win7, 1x XP, 1 Win8
all would work for farming but as mentioned above far easier getting: http://www.steamidlemaster.com/

and if you want to run 2 idlemaster without a Virutal PC - run a sandboxed version of steam here a guide:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=311943358&insideModal=1

(+ if you had a liscensed version of sandboxie you could run as many steam accounts
and idle master's sandboxed as your RAM allows with free ver. only 1 sandbox at a time)

I use custom nodejs script to idle all alts (works fine idling tens of accounts).
Another program for registering keys & sending trade offers with ease.

Keep in mind that you can run games simultaneously for the first 2 hours, and after that one by one for the drops.

I'm currently trying out Idlemaster on an alt account, if this really works than it's a huge time/effort saver.

Sorry, I know nothing about farming, I have no interest in cattle and fertilizers.
