+1 If the deal is too good to be true, it probably is.

Why for GoG though if its a stolen card? Why not just offer a steam game or GMG or any other service. Could be GoG credit from a refund or old promo. Im not saying to jump on it without checking rep but damn.

By splitting the scam, the TF2 key likely won't get refunded. Valve will simply see the OP trading the key for nothing (i.e. gift) and not give it back because the OP says he was scammed out of GoG credit.

Do he have rep on Steamtrades ? I mean, rep you can check by yourself, not that he linked you to ?

I'm legit but I don't have a lot of +reps on SteamTrades because I don't trade that much and I try to 'stick with the same traders'. Sure, you take more risks by trading with low-rep traders but not all of them are necessarily bad! :D

You have 13 positive feedback, to me that's a green light. As long as there's at least 6-7 positive and no negative, I think it's okay to deal with "low" feedback users.

I'm in the same boat, personally. I have about the same number of reps, but I've traded with a few traders a bunch of times. Prices tend to be so similar that there's not a lot of advantage to shopping around if you're interested in something that's on sale. I'd rather spend an extra Trading Card and trade with someone I already trust.

He's just a nice guy. Absolutely legit.

you gift him a key which is fine to steam support. he won't get banned for receiving a gift fro you. that's why his acc is in good standing.

any promises about anything else that doesn't change ownership in the trade window is irrelevant.

Linking the guy here isn't allowed or OP is just being overly pre-cautious?

It's not allowed to call out, but here OP is asking for advice, I don't think it would be breaking the rules to link to the guy's profile... No idea.

I see.

Well, OP, you can check him on various rep sites like SR, ST, bp.tf etc. but overall, I'd suggest you to ask him to go first if you're afraid.

lots of achievements?(check if he has too much compared to game hours, he could just cheat them) Does he have SteamTrades rep? how much games he has? and his offer sounds too good to be true.

He could've earn level 10 to unlock showcase and fill it with shitload of achievements just to look legit.

Usually such scammers have new account (less than 2-3 months), but still.

Because hacking achievements = they don't mean shit in deciding how "legit" he is.
The way the OP said it, he uses achievements as a measure of account worth, so he should naturally check if that worth is not faked.

Looking at one's play time and/or achievements could help decide whether that's a bogus account or one the guy wouldn't risk losing.

Considering that, yeah, tons of achievements unlocked just to make it look like the guy does play on this account might be a way to make this account pass as legit. From that perspective, what he says isn't stupid.

On the other hand, there are better ways to check if the user is to be trusted.

Well, I know who you mean (I've seen him on ST). I wanted to trade with him too but his deals were too good to be true, so I didn't trade with him. He seems suspicious to me...
