I logged into steam, and saw 10 messages, thought I pissed someone off.

but you have to admit, $20+ is a lot of money for a train. I don't even know if the DLCs are that expensive but if they are, that is a lot of money for 1 train. Even if it was a game that I really like, for example: PAYDAY 2, I would not pay that much money for 1 new heist.

It is for us yes, because we (i assume you too) don't like trains.
But people who play Train Simuator really like trains and it's probably a pretty big part of their life.
So if they want to pay 20$ for an extra train or an extra track i can understand them.
I would easily pay the same money for an extra thing for something which i really like.
Your comparison with PayDay DLC isn't really valid in this case for the reason i mentioned above.

My Payday point is valid, because I really like doing heists (not in real life :D) but some people may find that boring or not like it. It is probably the best game I have ever played but I still would not pay that much for 1 heist. Also, I just checked and the DLCs come with extra scenarios and they aren't quite $20 so I guess it ain't that bad.

No, because game itself already costs 40+$ and paying that already shows you're a lot into trains. But charging 10-20$ for a train for a game you already payed 40$ is way too much. Unless you're rich fuck and have 2000$ lying around to spend on dlc's for train game... It can't be that hard to make those dlc's if they made so many.

Train sims (and this is the best of them IMHO) are a niche product, which means they're going to cost more than your typical product. Think of this more like character DLC for games like Dungeon Defenders / Castle Crashers / etc. as the trains have more to them than looks.
Also: most of these DLC come with additional scenarios or routes which could provide for hours of gameplay.

And the DLC all goes %50 off during the summer/Christmas sales anyway. Could be they're trying to hook all those who got Train Simulator 2013 for $0.75 off of Groupees.
They'd have gotten more response from me if they had sent one %60 coupon for a specific DLC I didn't have.
