Maybe we should all stop buying entertainment to donate to poor people. Or better yet, we should totally stop buying clothes, traveling and eating to donate! After all, all this money could be donated to people who need it more than we, right?
I understand where you're coming from, but every dollar you spend on yourself (or others) is one dollar that could have gone to someone who needed it more than you. Where do we cross the line between what we spend on ourselves, and what we spend on people who need it?
Of course, I'm not saying we shouldn't donate to charity. Everyone who can contribute should contribute from time to time, but expecting people to stop putting money on entertainment to give it all to charity is unrealistic, since that's not how our capitalist society works.
