I went on a road trip with a friend's family right after that song came out when it was being played constantly. They decided to make a game out of seeing how quickly they could find it playing on another radio station after it ended on one. We probably spent 75% of the time in that car listening to Barbie Girl...

Other than that, it was a great trip. :P

Eh... I gave it a shot, but it just sounds like generic electronic/techno music to me.

I really do like all genres of music, but everything I have heard that has come out in the last 10 years or so just sounds so uninspiring. It's like music doesn't have a heart any more. Now Isley brothers, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Chicago, Al Green, The Cult, DeBarge, Erykah Badu, The Police... I'll listen to that shit all day, there's messages and feeling behind the music.

And yes, I do actually like some electronic music, but most of it comes from the mid-late 90's when techno was becoming more mainstream, artists like nine inch nails that used the medium to paint pictures and tell stories. Most of it though just seems to be a repetitive beat with the occasional hook tossed in to it, and just feels like it doesn't have any substance.

Classical music all the way, Opera more than anything else.
And classic rock, Led Zep, Joan Jett etc
Jazz but only in a dark jazz club, it's unbearable on the radio.
And some stuff like Sabaton, Nightwish...

But those days i make fancy ethnic dishes so i just put some traditional music to go with it, like indian music for indian food, korean traditional music for korean food, etc

Punk Rock (Hot Water Music, Leatherface, Gunmoll, Milloy)

Post Rock (Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai)

Slow Metal (Crowbar, Eyehategod)

Fast Metal (Nile, Necrophagist)

Country (Johnny Cash, Glenn Campbell, Loretta Lynn)

Jazz (Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Nina Simone)

Emo/Indie Rock (Mineral, Benton Falls, Sunny Day Real Estate)

Trip Hop (Massive Attack, DJ Shadow)

Reggae/Ska (Toots & The Maytals, The Specials)

Classic Rock (The Who, The Eagles)

Grunge (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam)

Hip Hop (Jay-Z, De La Soul, Dead Prez)

Electronic Stuff (Aphex Twin, Crystal Castles)

Other Stuff (Deafheaven, At The Drive-In, Les Savy Fav)

Yeah... I couldn't just choose one. Music has pretty much been my life since I was about 10 years old. There's probably loads more stuff that hasn't popped into my tired brain at this time. I feel there may be some editing to add essential listening that I have forgot.

I can't definitely say what music is my favorite, but i can say what i'm just like to listen Machinae Supremacy, Outkast, Cain's Offering, SoaD, Rob Zombie, Gorillaz, U2, Rhapsody, sometimes Missy Elliott or Eminem, and even rarely - The Crystal Method.

Still - i recommend you(and to all people, who is reading this) to listen Stolen Waters(Cain's Offering), Lose Control(Missy Elliott), Vertigo(U2), Overworld or Rise Of Digital Nation(Machinae Supremacy).

There was a good music earlier in my life i think, but these ones is "something-like-a-old-stuff-music-that-i-like". Well. Something-like-this.
