Taxes now showing up on steam purchases?

I'm from the US and never before have I had to pay taxes on purchases through steam.... why does this show up now?

I have always had to, but I live in Washington State (where Valve HQ is). Have you moved recently or do you live in a state where Valve has a corporate presence?

I'm in Illinois. Someone else told me they just imposed taxes here....
