Java/Scala is actually slower than PHP in many typical workloads. It has it's advantages for sure, but I can't see any strong reason why Valve would migrate to java/scala if they have already working PHP-based solutions.

Twitter did it some time ago. maybe valve is doing it too. or maybe they are just working on new features that are not fully implemented yet or just a ddos. don't know why it's slow now.

The store page was in Swedish, I clicked on some random game, the prices were in rubles, then clicked on store again and everything was in Polish. Kurwa! At the moment I don't know, what language it is anymore - Spanish or Portuguese.
