Steam Cards, Explanation and Elaboration please. :)

HI Eeveryone, I have recently noticed this steam cards things going on and around.

I have noticed people selling them for up to 10 euros/pounds. Which is pretty expensive considering it is just a virtual card.

I know cards can be collected and assembled into steam store discounts but issit really worth all the stress.

Can someone explain with examples please.

Its mostly for e-peen, crafting a badge to show on your profile. Prices for cards dropped too.

Also you don't get discount coupons now.

You don't get coupons, you get card drops for the Summer Sale game. No doubt the coupons will be back after the Sale.

Cosmetic and collecting. Crafting badges increases your steam level. With that each level you get +5 friend slots, emoticons to use in chat, backgrounds and other stuff. Above level 10 you get also showcases for favourite games, items etc.

I think it was since before the trading cards. Not very sure on that, though. Cap is as far as I know 300.

I guess that one good thing of the card system though. To increase friends slots. As you increae your game libary you will likely increase the amount of poeple you play with so yeah bigger potiential friends list is a good thing.

They can get "coupons" from selling the cards. When you sell the cards the money goes into your Steam Wallet, which can be used towards purchases. So technically you can.

When you sell it, it will show a graph of what everyone elses has and is selling it for. Sell yours for a penny less. Unless theyre FOIL (silver) you wont get more than 50 cents.

The point is selling all cards, because Steam level, coupons, badges is useless, and you can live without emoticons, backgrounds, etc. also buying a background you need would be 10 times or more cheaper than crafting it for yourself.

Go to the Steam Market and sell there or go to steamtrades.com and trade them for something.

I bought like 6 cards to complete 2 different badges... got a booster pack and then sold each card from the booster pack separately and made back all the money I spent buying them. It all works out.

And to sell them you go in your inventory and click sell.
