1) dunno what you're talking about
2) he's a deserter of the night's watch, the penalty is death.
3) the wall is made of ice. it's a defensive wall north of winterfell, to protect the 7 kingdoms from the white walkers and the wildlings.
4)because the show is trying to keep you aware of things as they happen? there's no flash backs, no prolapses, no time warping like in the show "Lost". All there is to it is a continuous action.
5) the 7 kingdoms are the 7 kingdoms. 7 nations in a giant "island" comparable to australia, only it's stretched vertically.
6) John snow is a bastard who grieves his surrogate mother every time she sees him. Since he's unloved by his new mother and he's a bastard, he goes away trying to find some honor (all bastards are born without honor, keep that in mind).
EDIT: you're talking about vyseris? omg ... You don't care about the show yet you ask these questions?
He is NOT king. He's the blood-relative, by which I mean son, of the previous mad king. The mad king was deposed for being mad, and his sons executed/exiled in order to safeguard the new (at the time) king Robert.

Drogo is a Khal , a D'othraki horse lord. He is NOT the king of the 7 kingdoms, in fact, he's in a different continent entirely.
Vyseris was exiled to a new continent, where he met Drogo, to escape death.
EDIT* Drogo couldn't be the king for he has NO claim to the throne.
Drogo allied himself with Vyseris for the woman, while Vyseris would get an army with which to conquer the 7 kingdoms (or so he plans).
Vyseris is the son of the previous king. That makes him the heir to the throne by blood-right.

1) the two sibling with silver/blond hair are part of the family that used to rule the 7 kingdoms before the War that made the Baratheons the rulers.
2)He was killed for deserting the night watch
3)The wall separates the far north from the 7 kingdoms, a group of people called the wildlings live there. North of the war is north of the wall...same with south.
4)There are several plot lines occurring at the same time. The dothrakis are on a different continent.
5)The 7 Kingdoms make up the continent known as Westeros.
6)A group of people who defend the Wall. Mostly made up of exiles and convicts, but it used to be a noble act to join the Night Watch.
7) Jon wanted to join the night watch for adventure mostly but also because he thought it'd be the best way to get some sort of standing in the world. Not much chance for a bastard to advance in the world at that time.

1) The guy and the sister are the last Targaryen (former royal family of the 7 kingdoms). Robert Baratheon (the current king, also called The Usurper) killed every Targaryen he could find before taking the throne. They manage to escape to the free cities (not in the 7 Kingdoms).

1 He isnt the king he sold his sister to the khal and in return they said they would help him take back westeros. (he is the air to the king that robert and eddard overthrew)
2 He was a nights watch member and the punishment for deserting is death.
3 The wall is just north of Winterfell (where Eddard lives) and the night watch guard it to stop anything north of the wall coming south. North of the wall is the real north but south of the wall down around kings landing is south and up near winterfell is north.
4 The book is written in that style as the events are happening simultaneously.
5 The seven kingdoms is the name for all the combined kingdoms in westeros.
6 He wanted to go. He was Eddards barstard so he had no rights to anything of his and he was inspired by his uncle who is a member of the Nights watch.

I've watched the first 4 episodes of Game of Thrones and I'm kind of confused...I guess I'm missing the plot of everything and the family tree is kind of confusing.
#PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL ANYTHING PAST EPISODE 4!
1.) Why is the guy with the sister the king now? Isn't Khal the new king and the sister the queen?
2.) Why was that guy executed during the first episode at the very first scene?
3.) What exactly is the wall and where is the North side and South side in relation to it?
4.) Why does the show cut from the dothrakis and then back to everybody else repeatedly?
5) What are the 7 kingdoms?
6.) Why was Jon Snow sent to be a Night watch?
#PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL ANYTHING PAST EPISODE 4!
I may think of more questions, but for now...these will do. Thanks!
I think I've managed to get the gist of things...i'm closing this thread before any spoilers are made.
Thanks to everyone who answered!
