I just watched this documentary:

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/film/the-choice-2016/

It gives good insight into Hillary and Trump, who they are, their political agendas, and how they got to where they are now.

I'm not a US citizen, and I would vote for Clinton without hesitation. Other than what I already wrote in this post, I'd like to recommend two recent podcast episodes that may help you be more at peace voting Clinton:

  • This American Life: Episode 601 about Hillary Clinton email server, from someone who actually read the 247 pages of interview summaries of the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails. Eye opening stuff.
  • Sam Harris podcast: Episode 49 about the Lesser Evil. A long but very interesting discussion that spends most of the time covering Clinton shortcomings in detail.

If you really think Clinton and Trump are "equally bad" and if you're considering to vote third party, you really should listen to both podcasts (and read the articles I linked in other post).

There's always a lesser evil, and in this case it's the one who is less likely to rush into pressing the nuclear button, only because he had a bad day and someone rubbed him off the wrong way. Guess which one would go first among these two?

I'm not afraid to say I voted Clinton. Stein and Johnson are both whackjobs. Trump is insanely volatile. Clinton, on the other hand, has a long charitable history.

I don't care that she seems emotionless and (as some have described her) sharklike. In the kiddy pool, yeah, I'm cool with guppies. When you get into international water, my money's on the shark.

I am worried the Soros funded voting booths will miscalibrate my votes in PA. I don't want my votes leading to a nuclear exchange with Russia, because Hillary had a fourth federal investigation to place the blame on.

Interesting that(atleast currently on sg according to poll) there are more Trump supporters in EU than Clinton supporters. Although far more US citizens lean for Hillary.

Permalink

Far more users in the EU don't follow the elections and have very little knowledge about the candidates. They probably like the sound of "Trrr-ump!" more.

Not really , we can see both sides of the coin , and the hillary one mega propaganda in US media , while in EU you don't have such BIAS and hate toward Trump like almost all of the US media.

Well, I don't have sources for this but from what I remember reading most EU citizens are actually very much anti-Trump. But the world isn't just US and EU, and actually if you look at the community stats, the biggest non-American community is Russians, which explains a lot. After that Poland and Germany are EU but Poland is quite a bit more conservative than most of the EU, and then next comes Brazil which I don't honestly know much about but it is still not EU.

...oh and then UK, which I only just remembered isn't EU either anymore :(

  1. Hillary is an evil alien lizard person who cannot feel human emotions.
  2. Trump is a lobotomized redneck who will probably get impeached for doing something horrible as soon as he's elected(this is the likely reason so many people are still willing to vote for him).
  3. The Russian hackers should've just had Putin elected president.
  4. With luck the candidates will all be too busy arguing with each other AFTER the election ends(because face it, these people are almost as volatile and immature as a commenter in an internet discussion of politics) to actually go through with any of their awful policies.

Not US and would vote for Trump, because I like little experiments, and seeing if he really could do more damage in 4 years than GWB did in 8 would be interesting from this far away.
(The slight disadvantage is that I would have to start learning Russian, because with his vow to not care about NATO would most likely mean my country being ran over by Russia again. But, hey, it wouldn't mean any actual change in our government at least.)

Ruble is still low as hell, and a nice conventional war has always been good for business. But yeah, I would expect more of an informal vassal state status. Our PM for a time was almost actively trying to reach that anyway, but we weren't lucrative enough. (Considering that in the past 900 years all empires that managed to conquer us had failed and either disappeared or got reduced quite a bit, it would be understandable. Plus right now the only thing in us is our EU membership, which we are literally selling to any Asian who can pay 60,000€ for a free EU citizenship.)

I really don't know how the situation is in the America, but here in the Europe it's less "suffering people fleeing somewhere safe" and more "islamists with fake passes invading the Europe by force". And hell, nobody would mind them if they just quietly learned to live within our culture and within our laws, but they're forcefully trying to impose their own culture and "laws", and that's something no country should tolerate IMHO ;)

I live in Europe, too, and my understanding of the situation is very different. How many of the refugees are "Islamists with fake passes invading Europe by force"? In Germany, at least, the percentage of fake passports was something like 8% -- and probably only a small percentage of that small percentage are religious fanatics. The terrorist attacks were perpetrated by a handful of people, out of the millions that have sought refuge in the continent.

Define "legit" for me, please. If you mean "legit" as in "legal," I've already said that only a low percentage of passports were fake, and that refugees go through the wringer in order to register here. If you mean "legit" as in "morally upstanding," you never know this about anyone; your favorite neighbor could get up tomorrow and shoot up an opera house.

I don't know who the third party candidates are, but I couldn't justify to myself voting for either Trump or Clinton, so I'd either vote some third party or not vote at all. Better to live under evil that I was against than under a slightly lesser evil that I lent my vote to and was responsible for.

I talked politics with a Russian lady today, and she was convinced that Clinton has one foot in the grave and no sliver of identity untouched by corporate interests. Also, that she should answer for Anthony Weiner.

Western media propagate a lot of negative sentiment about Putin, not all of which is warranted, and I imagine Russian media do the same with Clinton.
