quick question about risen 2

Well, first of all, it's still available for 1 dollar in the Humble Deep Silver Bundle with some other games, so you pretty much can't go wrong with that.

Also, as for the game, it still has glimpses of Risen 1 or the Gothic games, although it is unfortunately streamlined (or dumbed down) in many ways... And another big contra is the horrible combat, especially against monsters, where against some monsters it is literally Mouse Button 1 spam, because you can't block their attacks, so it's either you're stun-locked by them or you stun-lock them... And the dodging is extreeeemely slow and unresponsive.

On the other side, the humour is pretty good, so is the setting of the game (Pirates!) and graphics are fairly Ok. The voice acting is on par with the previous games, I like it just cause it was like this always, but some might not like it and think it's boring...

The game world is also smaller and divided into a few islands and it is alot harder to get lost in it and find stuff on your own just wandering.. You won't have to backtrack alot though, along with the streamlining came a Fast Travel option.

So I'd say it's the weakest of the Piranha Bytes games, but it's still fairly enjoyable, just don't expect too much :)

Better to play Gothic 2 again.
