But from comments of the game we can see that this game needs Windows LIVE to run and since Windows LIVE is no longer active you can't really play this game right?

Please ignore all the noob comments. I still play every GFWL game I own including GTA IV multiplayer without issues.

The first time you launch the game and sign into GFWL it will take a few minutes to update. It happens only once.

I'd buy it on the US site of Gamesplanet, because - at least in germany - it's a bit cheaper because of the currency conversion.
