I know that this is not going to solve anything and that scams will continue to exist, but shouldn't there be FAQ about the trading section too? That's all I'm asking and I'm pretty sure it won't take much time to get created. FAQ could include some tips about avoiding to get scammed. If it will manage to help someone, even 1 person, I'm sure it would be awesome.

Thanks for the bump. As you are probably seeing in the forum, people keep getting scammed. A FAQ would be so helpful. :(

But the evil moderators of steamgifts don't want to make a FAQ about trades. :'(

Bump. Apparently I had my 1st impersonator (didn't think it was possible since all my profile links are the exact same "honestkiddy"), but the victim said the scammer had the same name and profile picture as me, and just from that (and posting my steamgifts rep in chat) he trusted the scammer.
Maybe an FAQ might have helped him (he said researching other places was too troublesome) >.>

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. :( Did you find him and reported him? A FAQ would surely have helped him. The FAQ would say that they should look if a steamgifts profile matches a steam profile. ;)

The victim didn't tell me the guy. He said the moment he saw my actual profile difference with the scammer, he knew he was scammed and said he wanted to forget everything about it. So I didn't pursue further

Kinda true for a). But if there was an FAQ it might help who have low or no english knowledge (using google to translate 1 FAQ page, is easier than googling for info then translating those pages.)

Oh, too long but I did read them all. I feel so tired right now just like having finished an English exam. However, I do benefit from it and thanks for what you've done : )

Relatively recently (about a month ago), the guidelines were revised, and the circumstances related to “Trade” were clarified.
And the link to Trade related homepage which was a sister site disappeared.

They even removed the button that would direct you to the steamtrades site, so, they have officially abandoned it.
