…Max Damage is back! Carmageddon: Reincarnation is going to reintroduce the gaming world to the original freeform driving sensation, where pedestrians (and cows) equal points and your opponents are a bunch of crazies in a twisted mix of automotive killing machines. It’s the racing game where racing is for wimps.

Back in 1997 a small, independent game studio called Stainless delivered its first PC game to an unsuspecting world. Rich in humour, bathed in gibs, and relishing its instant reputation as the poster child for everything that’s wrong with society (and therefore right in a videogame), the smash hit Carmageddon and its successors sold over two million copies worldwide.

Of course the copyright and truck-loads of cash went to the EVIL publisher, but Stainless survives to this day, still independent, still kicking, and still releasing successful products. (Check out our other work and credentials at stainlessgames.com.)

After years of negotiation, the original founders of Stainless recently bought back ALL the rights to Carmageddon. So now it’s back in its rightful home, we’ve embarked on the journey that will reboot the brand, and we want YOU to join us on that journey.

Carmageddon featured real-world environments that had been turned into killing fields, where the locals stay out on the streets at their peril. As well as using your car as a weapon, every level was sprinkled generously with power-ups that had a vast variety of mad effects: gluing pedestrians to the ground or rendering them blind so they couldn't see you coming; turning your suspension to jelly or your car into solid granite; arming you with the awesome Pedestrian Electro-Bastard Ray or the Pedestrian Flame-thrower - and a whole lot more!

Shit, I was just talking about the original game the other day. Such coincidental times, thanks.

Kickstart all the games!

Pretty much, yes. With so many people going anti big publishers, and so many people throwing money at Kickstarter projects, any decent developer with a good idea would be foolish not to try.

My question, which metal artist will be in charge of the sound track? Also I need to see in writing pedestrians NO FUCKING ZOMBIES.

This is an automatic buy. Too bad the higher tier rewards aren't that interesting.

Hard to justify the expense for the model cars. Only $15 for me.

Too bad there's no paypal and their first pre-pre-alpha video looked more like Carma2 then Carma1 (I think I would like it more if they wouldn't put that falling-apart-into-pieces gore in that video, I so dislike that C2 gore; but, piledriver gore was nice).
Still, can't wait for it - off to start that modded carma1 copy and drive over some Caleb sprites).

It's not a pre-pre-alpha, pratically everything in the video is a placeholder, it serve only to show something to the fans but for me it's already near a good game XD.

They'll accept Paypal after the kickstarter ends (don't know much more).

Hopefully nobody will kill me for 'reviving' this (it's only 5 days...), but had to answer.

I know it's basicly a placeholder. But it reminds me more of my not-so-liked Carma2 then superb Carma1. I'll probably will get in anyway. As long as it won't turn out to be Carma3 I'll have fun.
