xbox one controller stops responding in games

i have xbone one controller wired whit usb cable in my front USB 3.0 port, and it works fine for about 4-10 min, then just stops it doesn't respond at all. i did change ports and update some drivers but nothing so far worked....games i did try are NBA 2k 2016 and payday 2

Is the controller being correctly recognized as an XBox One Controller? What does the device manager say?
Also, what OS are you using?

Are you usinga laptop? Does it totally stop responding?
In my laptop I was having more or less the same problem with nba2k16, the controller just stop responding for movement, but I could still pause the game from it. It disapeared the second I started to disable he "keyboard mouse" from the laptop.

no, regular PC, and yes 100% stop responding , only thing i can do is plug and unplug it and it sometimes works

i am using win 10, and in device manager it under xbox peripherals , and when u click that "Xbox controller "

I believe there is a Microsoft XBox One Controller driver in Win10. Make sure you're using that.

There was an update in 10 that broke it. You might have to roll back to an old driver.

When he said unity, he meant is it using the Unity engine.

Edit- I searched and neither are using the Unity engine.
