Are there any similiar games to the newest SimCity?

I'm looking for a game that would allow me to build my city or/and cooperate with other players, but I cannot find anything in that way. I can't believe that there is no city-building game MMO, so my question is: do you know anything similar to the newest SimCity?

But try SimCity 4

I won Cities platinum from here. It's actually pretty good, def worth checking out if you're into city building. The zones are giant. No multiplayer though.

I was playing Cities XL and it was really nice game, but I need something with multiplayer. From what I remember, Cities XL had multiplayer options, but they've changed it... If game wasn't that glitchy and multiplayer was included that game would completely wipe out the newest SimCity.

There was this project: Civitas.
But apparently the guy who created it is being a dick with the "fanbase". See the comments.

So... This set of plugins includes multiplayer plugin to SimCity 4? I haven't seen it on the list of plugins...
However it sounds great, as my friends have got SimCity 4 as well. Thank you for this link!

Yeah SimCity 4 or older ones are good 4 being the best for most of the fans, but you can also try Tropico series or Master of Olympus series (Zeus being the most popular)
