I'm looking for a new chair for my desk and am wondering what you all like. Are there really any differences between gaming chairs and office chairs? I'll definitely admit it would be cool to have a chair that matches my tower but I also don't want to pay double for just a color. I'm not too concerned about a headrest either; the height of my current chair is a comfortable height so I assume pretty much any chair will be.

Gaming or not, what chairs do you use/ like?

Obligatory gib and I have a bunch of crappy bundle games going on now too if you want to check those out.

I've found that, as inconvenient as it may seem, chairs are one of those few items you simply need to try out in-person to find the one that is right for you. Go hit some stores and see what you like. Also, don't go super-cheap-- your ass will thank you.

I definitely intend to. I'm hoping that I can get an idea of what's popular/ comfortable and go try those out. Or at least end up with a couple of companies to research or something

Don't you have an old big tower case left over from your old
pc that you can sit on? Chairs are so overrated.

Just kidding, I tend to agree with doctorofjournalism though, you need to check out
for yourself what suits you best.

I don't have much experience using different chairs. I have always used a standard leather office type chair, the ones that go all the way up behind your head and have a decent amount of padding. It's not very adjustable or the most ergonomic, but as long as it has a good amount of padding and arm rests I am happy.

Here's a random pic of something similar to what I use.

Haha, I've been using a folding patio chair for the past 4 1/2 years. It makes aiming in shooter games pretty hard, since I have to have my keyboard and mouse in my lap and fast+precise mouse movement is almost impossible, but I manage. It was meant to be a temporary stopgap until I could get a real chair, but every single one I try out in stores is either an instant "NOPE" or a slightly quieter "nope" after a few seconds of consideration. The patio chair is at least as comfortable as them all.

I've had to sew up the fabric a few times, and it's getting Frankenstein-y enough that I recently bought some fabric to "replace" it (read: sew on top of), but it's doing just fine otherwise.

Here's a pic of one that's kind of similar to mine. I think mine's better, though; the metal's heavier at least.
