Nevermind, didn't read the fine print which is actually very huge.

This queue really sucks, just a video and no screenshots, sometimes the video is just some cinematic crap, can't tell what kind of gameplay it'll have. I have to open the game on another tab to investigate and then come back to check another.

Indeed, I rather have the normal discovery queue, this way you still need to click 'show store page' on most games so why not just show it right away...

on mobile the UI is completely broken, buttons only half way visible. This new discovery thing is horrible.

I agree, I miss the inline screenshots. However this is preferable to me because you can go faster through the list, if they add a couple of screenshots below this would be great.
And if you're interested in the game you can just open it in a new tab and not lose your progress on the list

For me it almost felt slower, but maybe it was just because the animations/transitions ran so slowly in my browser?

Downloaded some 20 demos, there are some pretty cool ones even just from a few queues

PvP games, City builders, Horror FPS and 4x Grand Strategy. Yep. Steam really knows me well. Or is mistaking my account with someone else's...

Anyway yay! Nextfest is here!

Wow, this new discovery queue blows.

You mean you didn't want a new Queue that takes 5 times as long to browse [that's my actual numbers, at least], if you want to actually check out the information on each game in the queue? And that's chock full of bugs? And seemingly absolutely worthless in every way?

Well, you clearly just aren't a true enough fan of Steam, then. This is clearly on you. Remember: With Steam, you must give your love, and not expect anything in return. Certainly not quality or convenience. Never quality or convenience.

The badge only levels up if you click "next" or "continue" or whatever button shows up. Don't waste your time like me by doing the list three times and clicking "done", and then wondering if your badge is stuck at lvl 5.

"Continue" has given me quite a lot of bugs, and "done" works fine for me, so based on that, it seems better for people to try "done" first (to avoid bugs like the queue crashing or it repopulating multiple times, both things which happened to me) and only use "continue" after verifying that "done" doesn't work.

Edit: Looks like you do need to refresh the page after either option, or it may stall progress.

(Though it's worth noting that I'm using client, and brower/client interactions can have different results for Steam's.. quirks.)

The whole thing's a mess front to back, in any case..

If all you want is the badge this discovery queue is better than the normal queue because you can just quickly spam click on the next arrow instead of having to load the store page for each game. I got the badge very fast. Thanks OP.

Any suggestions how to get the badge?
I have viewed 500 games, several notifications that I unlocked the badge including the max level few times, but I don't have it.
Tried steam app, tried in browser, tried different device, tried VPN...
nothing works, always shows the happy text of unlocking badges and then comes the sad reality of no badge

Apparently steam is not very interested in solving the problem. This is what the support replied to me:
2 days ago: "We are aware of the problem and are investigating the issue further".
Today: "We do not have the possibility to reset the badge or discovery queue. Let's wait for possible fixing from developers."

This is generated from your library, recently played games, wishlist and viewed games. Probably from your friends' ones too. You can hide them from showing in your preferences, however this can hide some games that you legitimately would want to play

I explored almost 600 games and unlocked lv. 6 badge many times.
BUT when I went to my personal steam page or Next Fest Badge page, it turned to be lv. 1 badge,
No matter how many times I tried, the situation was the same.
Other players got their lv. 6 badge easily, not for me.
My Next Fest Badge is still at lv. 1. :~~~~~~~~~~~~
