Is there a way for non-US residents to download from them?

They have some games on there for less than $5, but they "download to US addresses only." I heard you can enter a random address and try to get around it, but it doesn't always work. Anyone ever tried it?

I'm Canadian, by the way. And no, the Canadian GameStop is about as useful/reliable as [insert something unreliable/un-useful here].

Perhaps it's a case of entering a random US address for your account, then you can buy anything there, same as Amazon?

Will that have any legal consequences?

I doubt it.

I hope so. I really wanna find something to play for cheap. I am broke, so I saw Tropico 4 for $3.99 on GameStop, but it said "Downloads to US addresses only," and got worried, hence my topic.

I don't know if this helps but usually when I find something online thats cheap especially from the US I can normally find a trader online to get it from, so then I only have to buy a couple keys, I did this with Kingdoms of Amalur a while ago when it went cheap for every country except mine. For example Tropico 4 here is just 1 key. Which costs about $2.50 on the steam market. So you might be able to get it cheaper and its likely to be on steam as its a gift. I could be wrong though, but thought I would give you a heads up.

I have never traded before, so I am scared of being scammed.

Usually if someone has close to 100 +ref and no -ref, and its a steam gift, its normally not that bad as even if it is a scam, since its a gift trade you can get your key back. But I do understand if you're scared of being scammed, especially considering how many times people have read that appear on here lol.

You can't get scammed if the trade occurs within the steam trade interface. Theres only problems when keys are traded around. Also when trading for games, tf2 keys are worth ~$1.70.

Well, in that thread (that Trustnoone provided), it doesn't specify which key - CS, TF2, etc.

No.

They may not accept your credit card when you go to check out, but you're not breaking the law buying from outside your own country. They'd be the ones at fault if there was any legal consequences. All you can do is try.

I live in Canada and I've bought things from them before by putting wrigley field's address. Worked fine, they never got after me or anything.

It's a 100 year old ballpark in Chicago. Elwood gave it as his address in Blues Brothers to trick the cops. Works in the real world too!

Tried asking me friend; she wouldn't let me use her address. Guess I'll try Wrigley Field, lol.

I think it'd be at the credit card/paypal (more likely to fail I imagine) would be the point where you'd run into trouble more then anything. For steam codes you should be fine but for other systems they may be region locked to the states.

Talking to my friend and asking her if I can use her address. For paying, I'll use PayPal, unless I can somehow use my EDGE giftcard (EDGE is like PowerUP, but for EBGames, the Canadian GameStop). Probably won't work, but it's worth trying.
