Hi guys and gals,

In case you're wondering what's this all about, please take a quick look here for more info

Simply put, we're trying to create SG Community's own digital monthly gaming magazine in which ANYONE can join for a chance to win a game and review it, putting down their thoughts on "digital paper" for the whole community to read! Each submitted review will be published.

We plan to start working on it on the 1st of February and by the end of the month you'll be able to read the first issue <3

Voting poll will be closed and concluded in 3 hours from now!

Edit: It has been decided!

Which name do you like the most?

View Results
SteamRoll Reviews (SRR)
Atomic Reviews Magazine (ARM)
Gifted Reviews (GR)
GenreJump Reviews (GJR)
Random Acts of Gaming Magazine (RAOG)
SteamGifts Monthly Magazine (SGM)
Mission Complete Magazine (MCM)
Games 4 All Magazine (G4A)
White Night Gaming Reviews (WNG)

I'll vote for SGM since I think the group name should mention SteamGifts or gifting in general. Hopefully the group will come soon, as I am quite hyped for this :)

+1
It is weird to have a magazine for sg that has no sg in its title!

Sometimes simple is the best. ^^

Simpler still would be simply SteamGifts Magazine.

I think that would get my vote even over Monthly Magazine... it would also not require as much explanation to new users should the frequency of the magazine change.

In case it wins.. SteamGifts Magazine will be the used name.. SteamGifts Monthly Magazine is more of an "official" name if I may say :)

Uh, maybe it'd be a good idea to ask cg for permission and input first... you know, like whether using the name of the site would be legally okay, or whether to include Fanatical ads on every page or only at the end of the magazine, etc.

I'll ask a moderator for input on the issue.

I don't think there should be any problem, since SG will be the only platform in which the magazine will be published. And it won't be monetized. But either way, thanks for the suggestion! Better be safe than sorry.

Yeah I agree. Frequency might change, so more general the better.

Just a reminder I suggested this title but not exactly like this.

I like "Steamgifts Monthly", myself. Sounds great!

I do love the SteamGifts Magazine name, but Rosebonbon's comment concerned me. I do not want something made out of passion to be turned into a future legal problem. I am waiting for a response from a Moderator regarding the issue.

But, just in case, don't be surprised if I decide to pick the second option.

I believe it won't be a problem since many side community here use SteamGifts in their name. Adding "Unofficial" to its description should be enough. An official response is better of course.

I think I'll do just that! Thanks once again for a good suggestion :)

I don't think cg could trademark the word Steam Gifts even if he wanted to, it seems too generic. A gift bought from Steam can be referred to as a Steam Gift for example. Nor do I think he has a trademark on it at this time. You could ask cg's opinion on the matter out of courtesy but it doesn't seem like he follows the forums much (or if he does he rarely replies), so it might be hard to get in touch with him.

I think I'll do what Mitsukuni suggested, and just use "Unofficial" in front of it.
