Identify this, please.

I've seen that before, my father has one in his showcase which is filled with all kinds of rocks, diamonds & gold. and other stuff. But i can't tell you what it is though.

So a user from Reddit believes it to be Hematite. Thanks everyone, my search to identifying this strange, tasteless piece of rock is now complete.

Graphite

first thing that comes to my mind is gelena (lead). that's those silverish bands. It the rock heavy for its size? If it is that, DO NOT lick!

Looks like a chunk of mica to me.

It's an alien stone, you should destroy it, if you won't it will evolve and take over the world.

edit: but seriously it might be Graphite or grey Gypsum.

In my opinion, your unidentified rock sounds like a big coal fosilised... this is just a fossil... don't search too far ;) (you can see it at the stripes you have on it, the shine is because is was wood burned and then graved underground. I have a bunch of it near my house because there was a mining career)
