PayDay 2 - Yay Or Nay?

Kind of wish I read this thread before I picked it up; Picked it up for the public matches mainly and from the comments, it looks like more trouble than it was worth :(

Payday 2 is an incomplete game.
It's really no surprise to people who played before the game's official release.

The only way to get the closest thing to the complete experience is to keep buying their DLCs which adds content that should have been in game from the start.
The developers have gone back on their words to add features such as safehouse/hideout customization saying that they
never said anything about it which contradicts what they said earlier and what is said in the beginning of the game. When people brought up why developers went back on their words they were banned from the message boards which gained controversy when the game came out.

It's a decent co-op experience, game still feels incomplete it seems they're focusing on DLCs to get more money which is a scummy thing to do.

Get it when it's $5 to $6 dollars so you can also get the DLCs.

I just bought it myself cuz It's one of the most popular games on Steam, can't wait to try it :).

If you like games like Killing Floor and the idea to make "hesits", yes.

DLC is not needed but is definitly adds, so you may awnt to consider some. Also people forget that there has been free DLC in this game, not only paid one.

The game is not perfect and there is some stuff that needs fixing, but most of them are beign fixed in time. Payday 2 improved and add a lot from the original game, this was good, but like always when adding new stuff new issues appear.

Public games are not impossible but you will encounter a lot of idiots (although this is not an exlusive problem of this game), just add the people you had fun/played well. If you have at least ONE friend to play with you will have fun and heist are not impossible if you got some skill and level ()depending difficulty).

Yay for the base game, nay for the DLC's, the devs fucked it up with that.

This topic got me to re-install it last night and I played for 5 hours straight which is not a normal gaming session for me anymore, I usually game for shorter time periods. I got it on its initial release, played for about a week or two and got really annoyed w/ it and finally went back to it last night.

All public games. I was at level 40 to start my spree, and got to level 48 by the time I stopped. I got into two separate groups of good people by just randomly selecting heists to do and just had a blast. There are jerks to be found, but thats every MP game just about which we wall know. I found my best luck to be in groups where there was at least one person on a mic (I dont have one at the moment) and the rest people communicate text wise. Its even better when its 2 with mics.

I can't speak on the DLC. The DLC that allows heists like BIG BANK you dont really need unless you want the few things you get with it. Like with Payday 1's DLC you can play with someone who has the DLC already so if just doing the heist is all you want to do, you will be able to.

Its currently at 67% off which is a great price. Its a killer game for less than 10 bucks. I'm almost positive it will hit Daily or Flash at the very least, and I may purchase the Gage packs then if the discount goes to 75 or 80 during that, but even without them last night I didnt feel I needed them.

It's actual a rather fun game, but Overkills is trying too hard with DLC stuff. It feels like they have a huge bucket full of DLCs and they pour it right over your head.

The first one is much better, but I don't know if many people play it. Second one has many downfalls, but you'll probably enjoy it regardless.

If you have some buddies to play it with, I'd suggest picking Payday 2 up. We had a blast with it for awhile. I kinda wanna go back and play it again.

Both 1 and 2 are good shooters but the first gets boring after awhile, the second one is pretty cool and has a lot of updates(new maps).
