they already make money off the store and selling peoples info. did they really need to remove the sliders that a very small % of people used? and they lowered the default charity price.....

ikr
I saw that image on one of the threads with a 70 cents for the charity and 4.20 dollars for humble, like seriously. I wouldn't have minded much if they made it an even 3/4 way split (If you consider the affiliate links or whatever) and flat out told us they were removing sliders, but this just kinda sucks

I tried the script and it only worked for me in Firefox, and not in Chrome.

On the first day I installed it, I had to refresh the page a couple times before it showed up in Firefox.
(And one time the slider disappeared entirely when I was choosing a Custom Amount

Don't forget that it's a mobile game. And it's almost free in Google Pass for Android

Permalink

So what if it's a mobile game? For the record, it's $3 on the Apple store. Also, I don't really understand people who play games on their phones. Such tiny screens.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You can play on your tablet with a controller for better gaming experience. And this game included in Google Pass with 1 free subscribtion month. Also games with not so fancy pixel art like this one looks better on smaller screens on tablets and Nintendo Switch imho.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Playing on a tablet would be better than playing on a phone, that's for sure. But I don't own a tablet. Nor a Switch. Nor an Android device, which I think is required to take advantage of that google play pass.

I don't know about that pixel art looking better on smaller screens. I think Broforce looks great on my pc monitor. Also, imo, the pixel art from Door Kickers is quite detailed compared to some other games, thinking about The Last Door here. This one looks so blurry-ish to me. Ah well... it doesn't really matter as I've made up my mind, thanks to the gentleman below. I don't think I'll be buying DK.

Is the game more difficult and/or less enjoyable if played solo?

More fun in coop for sure, way more challenging in solo.

Ah ok, then I think I will refrain from buying it then. I mostly play solo anyway so... yeah. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thanks for your input!

Comment has been collapsed.

Eh... maybe? For some reason, Door Kickers kinda reminds me of Broforce, just way less chaotic. Could be interesting. Or maybe I could just go back to Broforce and finish it... On the fence, will think about it.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's way more disciplined for sure. Broforce can just be respawning until you more or less exploit your way past the enemies, or yelling at your friends that they shouldn't stray too far for you to see anything on the shared screen.

Are you opposed to the idea of co-op'ing them for some particular reason? They're not really games meant to be played alone.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Hmmm I've just really been more of a solo player? That's how I usually roll. But, yeah, I do coop with a few friends and, actually, pretty much each week. Currently in Dying Light and Phasmophobia. I just don't usually get a game solely for coop purpose. I think about solo gaming first. Although it did happen in the past... Strange Brigade comes to mind. I knew I wanted to experience that one in coop. In fact, I don't think I would have had much fun playing on my own.

That said, I never tried Broforce in coop. It's already super chaotic in solo, it must be crazy if you bring in more players. O_o

Whelp, I often suck at strategy games so if the tactical aspect in DK is very important, I guess it wouldn't be a game for me. Plus, someone above mentioned that it was more challenging and less fun if solo'ed. So I guess that seals the deal. No T1 for me. :3

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Tactics are required, but it's not too bad unless you're trying for, idk, 3 stars all levels on the worst character or something. (Or endless I guess but I usually don't think about that) Even if you're bad at strategy games, as long as you understand how to play you should be good
I think it's worth the price, but idk if it'd be worth it to you

One game in tier one seems to be a trend, which also is a very nice way to avoid the tier one.
Since I know people who can't hold themselves blindly support any bullshit, this will continue to happen for a long time.

Comment has been collapsed.

Look, Vini, I get that people would prefer to have three games in T1, I'm one of those. I'm not sure why HB now sometimes has T1's with just one game in them... There are probably several reasons.

Maybe it partly has to do with the number of games they were able to secure for a particular bundle? Looking at past bundles, it seems that in general, the more games a bundle includes, the more chance you have to see a multi-game T1. This particular bundle "only" has 7 games. I think I saw T1's having multiple games more often in bundles containing 8+ games. And there are probably other deciding factors too.

Now, for someone interested in DK:AS... well, $1 is still one hell of a deal, that actually makes that price its historical low.

The biggest problem here isn't the cause, it is the effect. There's no problem at all about personal preferences and its respectively several reasons. The problem emerges when these personal preferences hurts the whole community. And... these people with these personal preferences hurts themselves as community. Considering this scheme, market explores whatever these "personal preferences" want (that's basics of market/economy). This is why there is still mystery bundles. People can't hold themselves. They go there just to feel pleased (for whatever reason) and they end up hurting the whole community. Wanna see how this works? Take a look on the movie The Platform.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, you do have a point. To a certain extend.

But even if no one buys a T1 that only contains one game ever again, that doesn't mean HB would go back to only having multi-game T1's. The "industry" of game bundles has evolved over the years, there are many reasons that factors in and I don't think that a boycott would make things go back to what they were years ago, when game bundles started appearing.

Because that's basically what you're talking about, implying... right? People can't help themselves and that hurts the gamer community as a whole so... if people could finally stand their grounds and vote with their wallet (as in stop buying mystery bundles, pre-ordering games that are super bugged on release, purchasing DLCs that should have been included in the base game, etc.), we could finally have nice things again, consumers would have what they want. Yeah, except that... no.

I'm not saying that boycotting never works, but I would suspect that it's hard to have it make an impact. One of the reasons for that is that we think about ourselves first. Some people are more self-centered, selfish than others. And...

What's up with the dry "no"? There were* a whole ironical hypothetical explanation to end up with a dry "no" with no contrary explanation at all. Moments before there were an explained about the results but nothing about the cause. In the end it works, but it don't. My last comment was entirely about the cause, yours was entirely about the results. I'm not sure if we are on the same page on this one...

To simplify - it's business.
Why should they give more games in T1 ? That would mean people would definitely buy T1 . If they put more games in higher tiers (as we have seen they do with games that previously have been in T1) people will more likely buy higher tiers. They can't just outright remove first tier. So offer T1 but don't make it tempting.

I personally bought T1 for every bundle some year or two ago. Now I haven't bought a single one as I have no interest in the single specific games they have offered. Also T1 and BTA are great for decoy effect to make T3 look better. Say what you want about IGN but they have changed humble into generic business that uses all the tricks you can imagine to get people top spend more by decieving legally and trying to lure them into spending more.

Your outrage is absolutely justified. I mean 1 € for a 12 € game? That's just 91,7% off!
Who do they think I am? Some magnate of industry?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Price is defined by how much the goods worth, not how much you sell.
You can price any 1 € game with 1.000 € price tag. Probably a bunch of idiots will buy, the rest won't.
This way, you can make a bundle for the same title for 10 €. A few more idiots will buy, the rest still won't.
You can always declare yourself as magnate of industry, but you'll always end up looking like an idiot with a potential negative review telling to other people the game doesn't worth the price tag, if you ever play the game.
