Update: Seems the False Positive has been a hit in Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/6573ry/apparently_im_the_00001_took_them_52_days_but_it).

I'm a CSGO player. I've been banned for 35 days, and today my VAC have been finally lifted away. I've been playing CSGO only at home. Out of nowhere, I received false VAC Ban. All my Inventory items are frozen. I don't see the Help Request in the VAC Wizard helps me to lift up the ban, but I told them that I'm using the following software:-

BananaGaming Text Mod from http://bananagaming.tv/colormod
CS1.6 font from http://fonts.spddl.de
HourBoostr / SingleBoostr from https://github.com/Ezzpify/HourBoostr/releases
SimpleRadar from simpleradar.com
VibranceGUI.exe from https://vibrancegui.com

None of them modifies or injecting DLL files to CSGO. Someone told me to send an email to VAC Team for further help request. I did send two emails, and of course, they never reply because by their policy of "If Valve told the reason for cheating, this will benefiting the cheat developers".
From here, I don't understand how this benefiting cheat developer? Isn't this our customer rights to know why our account get banned because of an unknown software that caused our accounts to be innocently banned? Let's take one example of Apple vs Jailbreaker, a case back in iOS7.1. Jailbreaker indeed finding exploits how to fully granted a user to write and execute files and all sorts. In return, Apple thanked the jailbreak team for all the loopholes that the jailbreak team found

"As Cult of Mac notes, the evad3rs team is credited by name several times in a new security document on Apple’s support site, which basically thanks the jailbreakers for helping Apple identify and fix the holes exploited in order to achieve the most recent jailbreak. Of course, as soon as another jailbreak is released following each new iOS build, Apple immediately begins analyzing it in order to identify and fix the vulnerabilities exploited by the software."

Do you think Valve should step up their contacts to the customers regarding about "our bans"? Feels like a daylight robbery when we are banned without a valid reason by Valve. Not many of us are lifted by false VAC Ban, I was lucky that I've been lifted. Just my two cents.

And the GA is my leftover DLC keys, join in if you want to: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/2tCVy/spriter-game-effects-pack

quit using 3rd party tools.. problem solved..

Do you think Valve should step up their contacts to the customers regarding about "our bans"?

not at all, cheaters know full well what tools they utilized.. there is no need in steam telling them what they already know.

No VAC bans, end of my story. ^^

I too find the lack of possibility to discuss about why you've been banned, annoying. Yet, that's the first case, I ever heard about, of them lifting the ban.

Recently there's a case where VAC system interfered with CEVO players, Valve did rectify and reverse the bans https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/60q8k1/just_got_vaced_during_cevo_game

Of course it's annoying when it comes to VAC topic, neither I asked the community how get VAC lifted because their system is automated.

another reason why tagging people with VAC in their profiles is bad. their system isn't 100% accurate.

No system is ever 100% accurate. And considering they revoked it, it kinda speaks that when they commit mistakes, its fixed.

Someone had their ban lifted for 52 days, according to Steam in Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/6573ry/apparently_im_the_00001_took_them_52_days_but_it).

Not mention about the reason yet, I've heard that Valve never lift any VAC ban, so what did you do? Only sending them an email includes your 3rd software you used?

Valve lifted erroneous VAC bans in the past. Due to memory glitches and other problems. You can check some mass errors in the wikipedia entry.

Support will never unban you because if they did people (the vast majority cheaters) would flood their system with unban requests. So the system is automated.

It makes sense for them not to divulge WHAT triggered the ban. I mean if you are a cheat developer and want to test what gets banned or not, you can make a program (or even spoof one pretending to be say winamp) and get a confirmation "oh THAT one got detected, better try another approach then"

Those false-positive suck but thats kinda unavoidable in any way. Even if you go manual (which is impossible to police all cases and would make cheating go rampant) that happens. Some users accused a pro-player of Zarya in overwatch of cheating, due to the "unnatural" way she would aim and it kinda looked like the movement was snapped, something aimbots do. Blizzard verified her games and it was 100% legit, just pure skill. So theres no way to avoid such mistakes to happen.

Funnily, if you go over the VAC foruns (or portuguese) it will look like a prison, EVERYONE is innocent. It was hilarious when a user claimed he would never cheat, hated cheaters, never used any programs and all that talk, and a user posted a link of a cheating forum for CSGO with his username on it.

I also had VAC ban on CSGO for playing at a cyber gaming center (the place where they provide you computer to play games), apparently there managing software has been recognized as "Cheat software" so I got VAC ban.....not just me but the whole center got ban on CSGO, the owner then had to pay back the money for the game for all players

Apparently Cyber Cafes usually risky, I have to shut all the existing processes before starting the game up. Wise Game Booster, is one that I used.
