I quite don't understand the system, the recent Apex DLC was my first time on Steelseries and i was in the waiting room, after i refreshed the page 20 minutes before the giveaway started

If you are in the waiting room, you already missed the giveaway. That's why you must log in 30-60 minutes before the giveaway starts, and refresh often, that way you stay logged in and don't get thrown into the waiting line xD

any tips for getting a key? I've tried the last times and the page just never refreshes (I open the page about an hour before) then I just see people who grab 20+ keys reselling.

You have to enter the page before you are put in the waiting room, usually it's one hour before the giveaway start but sometimes you have to enter way before. Then you just reload the page every 10 minutes, then start refreshing more some minutes before the giveaway starts in case they start a little sooner. After that you have a windowd of 2-10 minutes in which you can get the key before they get all snatched.

This can occur for one of several reasons, including:
1) We ran out of keys before we could assign one to you while you were in the queue.
2) You are in a country or region that is not eligible to receive a key.
3) A key has already been assigned to you.
