Torchlight 2 Multiplayer problems...

So yeah... I bought game yesterday just to play it with my girlfriend.

Game worked normal but had some loading screen issues ( random freezing ) rest worked fine. I've googled about that stuff but didn't find any solutions. Now , few hours later I can't even connect to other games due to my "firewall problems."

We both have Strict NAT's , I googled about opening NAT for torchlight 2 but nothing.

Playing in single player seems so pointless so please... help !

EDIT : I tried port forwarding and googled about that stuff , still not working.

I googled "torchlight 2 port forwarding" and found this in 1 minute:

The following ports are required for Torchlight II multiplayer:
TCP: 4549
UDP: 4175, 4179, 4171
Go to My Documents\My GamesRunic Games\Torchlight 2\local_settings.txt (make sure the game is not running!) and change the line that reads "UDPORT :0" to read "UDPORT :4171"

If you happen to be using a Bigfoot Killer Network Interface Card, uninstall its drivers and reinstall the latest version.

Yeah, next time just google it yourself...

this is happening very often to me. you need to wait a couple of minutes, it will go on after that.

Sums up how TL2's multiplayer has been since day 1. You could try asking Runic to fix it, but they won't.

Try enabling UPNP in your router.

Or connect the 2 PC-s directly with a LAN cable.

I had this once in a while, but now this thing is gone for me, at last. I did not open ports, or do any tricky stuff. Updates to the game seems fixed it over time. Oh, and by the way: I play the game with WINE under Ubuntu Linux.
