Thought that was only Doom 2? All I remember when I was younger, was how awesome capture the flag and the death matches were for Quake. Specially the maps where you could use the grappling hook ;) that was mint

We had a three computer local network at home back in the Quake days. And there were some awesome Quake mods out there back in the day (including, say, one Navy Seals, which later evolved into a Half-Life mod called Counter-Strike, which managed to get some modest popularity ;). At best I had 2,5GB of mods in my Quake folder. The computer had 4GB of HD space. Those were the days :P

+1 for me for the PC. Was my first game on PC. Didn't know at first what kind of game it was like (was a present from an uncle). When starting, i thought it was some kind of adventure/puzzle game in amazing 3D. When i discover that it was a fps, and how awesome were the soldiers ai...

Good old UFO: Enemy Unknown will always be near the top.

Now, consoles.. That's a bit trickier. If we skip the classic part of the question, I'll go with the only console game I'm sorry doesn't exist for the PC: Shadow of the Colossus.

You consider WOW a classic?....It's a very big title, but I don't think it's classic already.

Had to do a double take on this comment. The series was a classic, WoW ruined it for me. Wish they kept with the RTS.

Yes, yes to the millionth power. Putting mines on people was awesome. I even remember that you could survive proximity mines stuck on you if you ran in the direction opposite to where it had been stuck to you. And it really sucked when a mine got stuck to your face since it would obstruct your view. Oh and the guns were good too, brilliant game for multiplayer.

i remember when we just selected random characters on a random map, it was a clusterfuck, a robot and a gingerbread man against some spetnaz and a zombie, i wish more games like those existed, IDGAF about realism, i also loved how if you played on higher difficulties, more parts in the single player maps would appear, giving you an inctitive to go up in difficultie not just for the sake of challenge

EDIT:nvm crytek uk is working on it, i hope is good.
