I have heard of people getting banned from Steam for faking achievements.

If only there was a way to not be worried at all, like not cheating in the first place...

According to playfire's rules, your friend will be banned from playfire/gmg as well as being reported to Valve. Also now that your friend is posting on this very forum, it might be possible that some white knights are going to have him reported.

Short answer: He will be banned from Playfire, his Steam account blacklisted and he will be reported to Valve. And he totally deserves that, abusers like him are the reason why we can't have nice things.

EDIT: You should at least set your profile to private if you pretend you're asking for a friend.

After checking "his" profile, "he" will get banned eventually. Obvious marks from cheating there.

You're not so smart to do achievements at different time during 2-3 days, you was too lazy and did all at same time. You'll be banned on playfire/gmg for sure, it's just a matter of time. I doubt that steam will care about it, but playfire will do.

I reported 26 people so far to Playfire for using SAM, i'm not sure if they'll go beyond disabling your Playfire and GMG account but here is what they say about it:

"People who exploit Playfire Rewards will be immediately banned from Playfire, their Steam ID blacklisted, reported to Valve and it may also impact your ability to earn credit or gain discounts permanently on your Green Man Gaming account"

Anyway looking at your Rush Bros cheeves i think i have more than enough to open a ticket right now. It's because of asshats like you that they might completely drop this feature one day

Also i should mention that i get some complimentary credit every once in a while for reporting SAM abusers so thank you for making me some money in the process as well

Sure, a "friend" cheated his achievements in order to get playfire rewards. This is why we can't have nice things.

You can be banned if someone reports you. That was really a bad idea to ask here.

Faking achievements is bad enough, faking achievements for actual money though is despicable...........

You should've read the playfire rewards rules before you used SAM. And don't get snippy with others because they call you out on it and give you an answer to your question. You honestly didn't expect people wouldn't immediately check your steam profile when you said your "friend" used it, did you? In sum: Use your brain, read rules/ToS of things and don't get mad when people give you an answer.

You still had more than one day, you could have played legit and earn some archivements but you ruined it.

Also the 0.10 ones are the hardest by far,some of them took me hours,totally not worth it if other people are still trying them.
