I'm going to get a new toaster so I'd like to see what you guys think about the spec of it. It's main focus is just for playing and for future streaming in steam :P

http://www.terabyteshop.com.br/t-power/computador-t-power-intel-i7-4790-3.60ghz-4geracao--8gb-ddr3--sshd-1tb--dvd-rw--gigabyte-gtx-960-4gb-chdmi--gab-phantom-240-white.ptml

In case of you getting "lost" in the site, i'll just put the spec here:

-Processor: i7 4790 3.6GHz Quad Core
-Mother Board: Asrock Fatality H97 Killer LGA 1150
-Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 960 4GB GDDR5 PCI-E
-RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel
-HD: Seagate Hybrid SSHD 1TB 64MB Sata III
-Power Supply: 600w ATX/EPS PFC
-SSD 128gb (or higher) Kingston for OS only

What do you think? You can give me ideas of what to change, but dont expect me to switch to AMD card.

As soon as you have decided to give that much money, why not change the 960 with a 970 or a 980?

I could THINK about it but a GTX 970 or a 980 is actually R$1500~3200 but I can search other sites and shops to get the best deal, but I dont think any upgrade like that would benefit ALOT, since this one will last for a good amount of years, but good point bro.

  • Get a cheaper Quad
  • What's your current graphics card? If you can wait 6 months, many things might change.
  • H97? Lol...
  • What brand is that PSU? :S

Which reason for a cheaper quad? I'd wanted the best I could get for the simply reason: I am lazy to switch processors. haha

MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 2GB C/HDMI , I could save or sell it, not sure what to do about it atm, still good this little baby.

What's the problem with the H97? :P

Silverstone, my bad for not mentioning it :P

  • For that price I would rather get a 5675C or a 6600K, Haswell (4***) are old and expensive at this point.
  • You have enough GPU for now, wait a few months and buy a new generation in 16nm, hopefully with full DX12.
  • H97 is also one year old, I just checked and is not that bad though.
  • I guess you picked a good PSU.

960 is a bit low for a hard-core gamer PC... if you can afford it, I´d suggest a 970. you can save by downgrading the CPU a bit.

also i would ABSOLUTELY buy a larger HD. 1TB is not enough for storing a big steam collection, and the price increase to 2TB is very low.

Thanks for the suggestion, I already have another 1 TB HD here.

And about the 960....I'll sell my current graphics card MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 2GB C/HDMI then i'll buy a 980 , to be specific:
GEFORCE GTX 980 TI G1.GAMING GV-N98TG1 GAMING-6GD 6GB 384BIT GDDR5 PCI-EXP , just because my friend would want to buy my 960 for a good cash lol

Even 2 TB is not even that much. There are a lot of new games that are really big (GTA V is 50 or 60 GB, so is Assassin's Creed Unity). So 2 TB is used in no time.

Get yourself decent PSU XFX, Seasonic, SuperFlower ect. look for tiers 1,2 or 3 http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html
About Mobo this will help you chose decent: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2383217/motherboard-tier-list-h97-chipset.html

GPU try look for alternative example R9 285/ 380 /290/ 390 are better.

Good CPU, overkill mobo compared to rest of the config, mid-term GPU, good RAM, decent hard drive, decent OS SSD (I would have recommended a Samsung EVO, strangely Kingston is not nearly as good in SSDs as in RAM sticks), overkill PSU.
I assume you want an SLI configuration in the not too distant future (2 years or so)? The cheaper GPU + strong PSU suggests that.

I'm not sure about SLI yet, depends if I would really need or not, but thanks for the comment :D

If you don't want SLI, a 450 or 500 W PSU is enough, even if you switch to an AMD GPU later.

I wanna keep a good amount of W because i'll upgrade it later in some years.

That doesn't draw a cause and effect line though as the newer and newer chips offer more performance for less and less power. Even AMD chips have lower power consumption than what most people think of. My almost 5-yo rig that needs 380 W can be outclassed by a rig that draws less than 160 W with the hardware available today.

Unless you want to have a multi-GPU setup, you'll almost never need that much more power when changing CPU or GPU (and the rest needs significantly less power compared to those two). Of course you can have a 600 W PSU, but don't be surprised if you never use even half of it in its life cycle.

Yeah you actually dont need in the same year build something such overpowered since you can still run games for a couple of years decently, its all a matters if you dont wanna worry about it or if you have other plans for the pc
