I cannot think up one single reason why would one want Windows 8 over 10. I can understand staying on Win7, but Win8…?

Windows 10 gives you better performances if your cpu is the bottleneck... But i like the window interface from windows 8 better

Easily windows 10. Actually really like all of the changes to the UI. There's a few minor things I dislike but nothing like I disliked windows 8. At least we finally got rid of that damn metro UI!!

Also, the only reason they released the windows 10 for free is because it's unfinished, liable to crashing and can't be bothered to test it themselves. So they get their customers to test it for them :D

But if it has to be windows then it will be 7. I haven't tried 8 though at all. I tried windows 10 that's why I have linux mint now and a small windows 7 partition for "just in case I need it"

Haven't tried Windows 10 yet, and I agree Windows 8 was/is absolutely terrible,. However Windows 8.1 doesn't deserve all the hate it gets. Win 8.1 is decent with some cool features, and so much better than 8.

I've been using Win 10 on my laptop for about a week and to me, just my opinion now..., Win 7 (&/or Xp) and Linux Mint are my picks too.
Win 8.1 is so/so but is what I run on my main desktop (hand-built with love gaming machine:)) in order to keep up with technology.

It feels like they just crammed that metro screen in the Windows menu and gave me a bunch of other things needing disabled and uninstalled. Not a big fan of live tiles or interacting with social media and the internet through anything other than my browser (or in a game). Not a fan of digital assistants on my phone and I can do without them on my PC too. I honestly do miss the regular start menu and the control it felt like I had over my files and folders in older Windows editions. (...and I like my Control Panel and would rather leave "Apps" to Android...)
