I'm gonna be honest here - saw the thread title - it reminded me of some song lyrics - could not remember what it was. Clicked the bottom link, saw Prodigy - thought to myself no way. Was then gonna google the thread title as lyrics but 1 microsecond before that decided to click the first link - and then it clicked - haven't heard the song in ages, had it on some mix cd. So thanks for reintroducing it!

tl;dr - I'm a potato.

Also, bump?

Glad i could reintroduce it. :) But it's always best to just pop in a cd from them from time to time. ;)

Those were the good old days... Things were new and simple back then, I kinda miss them. I feel like I'm going off-topic, but I still felt the need to say it.

Offtopic apology or smth

And what some comments say there, no bills, no stress (depending on your age offcourse), people not on their cellphones 24/7.

Thanks for posting a link that mentions the female singer, never knew, which made me look her up.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbcKO92OGNI Which sadly she can't sing anymore since 2010 because of a thing called burnt mouth syndrome. :?

That sounds very depressing - and googling the symptoms it seems it's called that because the sensations are similar - the article I read said causes are hard to determine but some of my guesses would be larynx strain + a lot of addictive substances (though I could be completely wrong, just guessing).

Very sad when something like that happens to a singer no less, just like how Pratchett getting Alzheimer's was depressing af (I mean losing the "tool" of their trade)...

I've never liked acapella music in general, but when you hear them remake songs you know and like, it is interesting to hear, but it seems like it is just a one time experience. I can listen to a few viral videos of songs I know, but then I am not interested in listening to other music they make.

The only other acapella I can remember listening to is Daft Punk by Pentatonix. I actually like this one a lot because I love Daft Punk and they did a great job, but it doesn't make me want to follow other music that Pentatonix makes because I like Daft Punk, not acapella.

Yes, these people are talented and do a great job, but the excitement in these viral videos is just that they remade some songs we know well with only using their voices. This doesn't make me want to continue listening to anything else they make though. I am curious to know if people actually listen to this kind of music on a regular basis like they would with other music. This type of music seems like it is more for a one time experience at a show, like a magic trick or talent show.

When I used to DJ, I loved acapellas, because I could layer it over an instrumental track, and create completely different mash-ups on the fly

Related...

Also, I'd say the soundtrack for The Neverhood (old claymation point and click game) has music with Acapella elements (Like this one for example) It's a really unique soundtrack.

These bring back so much nostalgia. I just listened to a bunch of them and now I want to get out my NES, SNES, and N64. Just have to get the old crt tv out of the basement. Hopefully the batteries still work in the cartridges to save. I haven't had to replace any yet which is crazy since some of them are from the late 80s and early 90s.

The title speaks to me atm, since it seems I'm finally growing up and learning to stand up for myself.
I recently got fed up with an old "friend" of mine, who's been around for 30 years. Always an asshole. The kind that smiles and feels good when others suffer.
He has now been pushed against a wall, and out of my life.

I hate physical violence, and have never laid a hand on anyone. But enough is finally enough.

Don't need him.
