I'm shocked at Steam for allowing people to post these on the trade forum. People are asking for money and games for these codes and it's something they got for free and anyone can do it. These people are scamming the ones who don't know about it and Steam is letting them get away with it.

Everyone saying these gifts are "illegal" or are shocked about people trading them, please shut up. There's a reason why they are tradeable and it's for people to do what they want with them. If they didn't want people to trade them, they would have made them only giftable. Stop being overdramatic babies because you didn't get one, this is the same shit that goes down on playdota forums on the dota 2 section when someone tries to trade their beta gifts/keys.

To everyone who's complaining about how "lol sign up for the beta and yu get keys for free"

The process is far from instantaneous. In fact as far as any of you know, they might have filled up their beta slots, so people who sign up now won't get in.

Just to add my thoughts, if anything it's a lot like DotA2 beta keys, yes they may still be distributing them but it will only be to a smaller portion of people than who actually applied, therefore even though it will be f2p at launch and available to everyone, at the moment it isn't so has a monetary value to those who want it enough. Simple supply vs demand/desirability economics.

Didn't the DotA keys go for around 50pts not so long back??

Some people are just to lazy even to sign up in a website to get a free Beta copy... Thats why Steam is giving tradable copies to people, so the lazy ones can get a copie too.

Keep in mind, guys, that beta testing always goes in waves, so even tho you still have big chances of getting a key, it would still take long enough to get it. As for me, i just wanted to share my copy, it wasn't an evil plan to make people lose their points (muhaha), also i wrote on the first comment, that game is going to be F2P, and you can register in beta yourself. Still got 530 contestants.
