I have completed Baldur's Gate 1, but don't have the energy to put another 100+ hours (offline and online) into another comprehensive RPG play-through.

However, I may make an exception (and special effort) for Pillars of Eternity. Or should I wait for the upcoming Baldur's Gate expansion (expansion of this game)?

Poc has a big patch incoming. I'd say wait and see what happens with that first.

Buy Pillars imho. While BG is great and everything we have no idea how good the expansion will be or when it's even coming out for that matter.

So, Pillars is better than BG?

I can run BG on my laptop's below-average Intel HD Graphics 3000 adapter. Therefore, I assume that the BG Expansion will run on my laptop.

I wonder if Pillars of Eternity will run on my setup though.

I can't comment on if your computer will be able to run Pillars, but I think it's better than Baldur's Gate 2 (which is better than Baldur's Gate 1).

Uhm, i have no idea honestly, you might not be able to run it, your best bet is probably to ask on the official forums, not the steam hub, devs don't post there. As for PoE being better than BG, it's all down to personal preference, however, it's deffinetly a better purchase than the BG expansion. I doubt that will have even half the amount of content PoE has and, again, since it's made mostly by people not actually involved in the making of the original BG games, and judging from the "new content" in the Enhanced Editions, i kinda doubt it will be as good.

Beam dog have stated 25 hours for the expansion. You'll get that just from loading times in Pillars.

Path of Exile (a knockoff of Diablo), and Pillars of Eternity share the same acronym: POE
