I think the current system is fine the way it is. Sometimes people suggest new ways but I don't want things to change.
From the reactions of users in previous similar threads, I think the majority of steamgifts users don't want things to change either.

If it ain't broken, break it so you can fix it. Then break it again. And wait for someone to fix it again :-P

I agree on the less is more, I mean, what would you think about a system, where having more CV, means that you could enter giveaways more times for example. That would just create unfair stuff.
The chance of winning of 1/entries is solid enough, and RNG already makes a decent amount of variation.
Also, with other system, youy will actually have to go deeper into how the system works, and baseline is still the same. If 500 people enter, and you get these cards stuff, the chances of you being the winner in the end, is still 1/500. It only adds possible tension and complication.
Edit: Or how about this example, being able to put all your 300P into a single 1P GA, 3 people doing this would already be nearly 1k virtual entries, leaving people with genuinly 1 entry, practically no chance. Unless they also all put 300P in, in which case, you pretty much have an equal chance as you would have if everyone had just 1 entry. So no, I dont think it's a nice system. That's even a bit like that lotery stuff, where they tell you yopu will get a bigger chance to win something, because hey, you get a 2nd ticket for free. What they don't mention, is that everybody gets that one, so unless you actually acppet that free one, you would put yourself at an disadvantage even, because everyone gets that free ticket.

There's a reason SG is the site all the others are simply imitating.

I gave up on the other site once I reached 3 million points. It was a fun place to do giveaways before they did all the different types of giveaways and how points are earned. Now most of the good contributors are no longer around. Whats left is a cesspool of unwanted bundles and bottom feeding leechers.

The 'increasing chances' thing I have to agree is the start of a potentially slippery slope.
I like the way Steamgifts does it. It allows for non-contributors to have an equal chance, while also allowing people to determine entry conditions as to reward contributors.
Though I do facepalm a little at the sheer numbers of 'puzzle' giveaways that require incredible amounts of patience because random grating elements like the answers being poorly spelled, the questions being poorly thought out, the links often being rendered invisible (source'd) or pointlessly obscured along with trollish hot-button posts, and subjects being often ungoogleable general knowledge that even fans of the topic struggle massively to progress in, and generally being not-a-puzzle but a pointless limbo for an undeclared game. I mean, it'd be nice if there were a few puzzles that you could genuinely intuit (and that super-near-misses didn't ruin), or that were actually fun. I mean, I get the reasons why you'd want such an entry hurdle, but nothing stops answers being shared by off-site means amongst friends or grouped acquaintances. Maybe it's just because I'm not a fan of looooong drawn-out guessing games with mandatory wait times between attempts (especially when you're trying to find the spelling the host used), but they just rub me the wrong way I guess. More power to those who figure them out legit, though.

I think doing puzzles (well-done puzzles, that is) is fun, and the giveaway at the end is just icing.
I absolutely agree that it's aggravating when the person who creates the puzzle misspells their answers, or uses Google to find an answer and finds the wrong one, or their questions are so obscure that you have to be some kind of ridiculous savant to have a chance at getting the answers.
But I don't think people hiding stuff in source code is that big a deal (highlight, right-click, view source/inspect element/whatever your browser does), and when there are actual puzzles and not quizzes I think it's a blast to just sit down and figure it out yourself.
NotPr0n is about the most fun I've ever had on The Internet.

Don't really know too much about Galagiveaways, only went there during the initial week but from my experience with Playblink I'd have to say that RNG as a backend is the only option, otherwise you get into situations where the site has to potential to become a profit machine for select users.
I don't generally mind a variety of silliness as a front end though. As long as it's only used to determine who gets to enter rather than who gets to win. Minigames, puzzles, contributor value, private groups etc etc all work fine as long as they are not the main decider.
