Well, here we all are. As promised, now that Part 1 is over and for the most part we had a near tie (within 2 votes) of Level 4 and 6. I thought about what to do and in the real world votes would probably be recounted or something. But, since this is Steamgifts, I will just make two giveaways. The giveaways are: Level 4 = Injustice 2 and Level 6 = Into the Breach

I will not be providing a thesis or dissertation on the results. But simply put, as many other users put it: Level 0's despite being the vast majority are not necessarily active users nor are they active in the forums. To put it eloquently, from a previous discussion created by ertitoagus, AllTracTurbo made the following comment:

The results are interesting. You would think according to the statistics, there should be a lot of low level users, but maybe they just don't frequent the discussions as much. You would think nobody would vote higher than their own level because they wouldn't be able to enter the giveaway (there are probably some lower level users trolling and voting 10). You would also think there will be a lot of users voting below their own level because they feel the lower level users should have a chance to enter.

All of these things (other than a few troll level 10 votes) would make me think the results should heavily favor the lower levels, but that is not the case. Maybe it is just the combined efforts of the mid and high level users settling on a compromise. Maybe the level 5 and 6 users feel their level is a good place to be because it is too easy to get to level 4 now, so they vote for their level. Then the higher levels know they don't have a good chance of winning if they vote for a higher level and by doing that, they will basically be throwing the vote away and be giving the lower levels a higher chance to win, so they compromise and select level 5 or 6. Plus, a lot of the higher levels may just feel that it's not necessary to restrict it to that high of a level and they feel 5 or 6 is a good place to pick

All in all, I thank everybody for their participation and/or time! Hope you like the giveaways!

Instead of doing it this way you should do it "Level X or lower", and then take the most voted answer. This way you'd have far more objective results where everybody would most likely vote according to his/her own level, and you could compare those results with the amount of users on per-level basis, as shown on SG. Only then you could make up some logic to your votes and analyze whether L0 users actually visit the discussions, right now this poll is worth next to nothing since every logically-thinking user picked his level first, and if any lower level had more votes, he changed to that one (which is why you have L4 and L6 so close, because L4 in reality is L4-L5, while L6 is L10-L6, 16k vs 6k + appropriate difference according to people visiting discussions, with higher levels being more likely to visit them).

I am awful on fighting games (Injustice 2), and I would love into the breach. Too bad the former is the level 4 and the other one is 6.

I saw that level 6 vote is winning, and the level 5 has no chance of winning (since I am level 5), so I voted for level 4. Maybe add those kind of scenarios in your dissertation?

Interesting. I think the last time someone has done such an experiment the level 6 got the most votes, with level 4 or 5 (can't remember which one of these) following closely behind.

Level 6 is the best level, because that's the level I am at :3

I thought voting for my level would exclude too much people but then when deciding which level to vote for I chose 6 because it was already winning.

Thanks for the nice gibs! However I wasn't aware of this:

because it is too easy to get to level 4 now

Does this mean that the amount to reach level 4 was decreased?

PS: I voted lvl 4 even though I'm lvl 7 since I thought it was a nice middle ground for active users to be, but in this post you say it's rather easy LOL

Level 0: $0.00
Level 1: $0.01 - $25
Level 2: $25 - $50
Level 3: $50 - $100
Level 4: $100 - $250
Level 5: $250 - $500
Level 6: $500 - $1,000
Level 7: $1,000 - $2,000
Level 8: $2,000 - $3,000
Level 9: $3,000 - $5,000
Level 10: $5,000+

So as I thought, level 4 seems balanced enough having spent $100. Level 6 is way more broad though, so I stand by my original vote even though I'm looking forward to winning the level 6 GA since it's one of my top 3 wishlisted games

Both gifts have been sent and marked as received by the winners. Again, thank you everybody that chose to participate in this "experiment", with potentially more to come. Sorry if I did not get a chance to reply to all comments as I have been VERY busy with work as of recent. Have a good weekend everybody!
