Sounds taxing... And can be done manually or with a script.

That would be awesome!! I manually sync almost daily because I added new games I want to be hidden from the front page. This would also make it impossible for certain people to still enter group giveaways after they've been kicked. Happens far too often.

It might be convenient, but the site load would be huge and I'd rather have a responsive site. And I would still need to manually sync after adding new games just to hide them off the front page, so it actually really wouldn't change anything for me.

Auto Sync weekly is enough I think, daily it would put the servers under too much strain I suppose

Too much load, can't be implemented.

Something similar was suggested during beta. But weekly is fine, as long auto sync doesn't happens Friday to Sunday(due free weekends and stuff).

IF people are so concerned about double dipping or w/e, then a workable middle ground would be to force a sync after winning a giveaway on the site, in addition to the weekly requirement along and keep the manual option available for those that are anal about such things.

no forcing a sync! what if I win and mark during weekend? It prevents me from entering all GAs for free-weekend games. Without force syncing you can scheldule to always auto-sync in the middle of the week to never get affected by these.

I thought it already does auto sync (for public profiles)?

I think it only happens every week or so, but it sure doesn't sync every day

do members' libraries change so much every day that we need daily syncs?

NO - but only because of free weekends games prohibiting everyone on the site from entering any GA for those which would be really problematic. Now you can scheldule your syncs so it doesn't catch these.

I was about to say the same thing, its just the free week end stuff that is problematic... Some people may also want to keep their profile private for idk what reason, so that would be a bother^^

Winning the same game multiple times is already prohibited so check that instead, it doesn't make sense to enforce redundant rules that cause additional problems on top.

how can you avoid that btw, a reroll ?? if you enter ga for the same game its mean that you want it no ?

Yes, if you happen to win the same game twice, activate whichever copy you receive first, then leave a comment on the other giveaway to tell the gifter that you already got the game from someone else so they should ask for a reroll.
