Hello fellow Steamgifters,

I need your help and advice.

I am trying to run The Witcher 2 at MAX setting with Ubersampling ON but i get 35 - 45 FPS in Flotsam (first city), but if i turn Ubersampling OFF i get 100+ fps, sometimes it drops to 85 for a second, so no issue there.

Now, as my title says, i am running a Crossfire setup her and is why i was expecting FPS of 60+ with Ubersampling on. I have latest drivers installed on my PC.

My specs are:

i7 - 3770k OC (4.5 Mhz)
AMD Sapphire Vapor-X R9 280x OC 3GB Vram (1070 GPU Clock/6200 Memory Clock)
AMD Asus HD 7970 DCU 2 OC 3GB Vram (1070 GPU Clock/6200 Memory Clock)
PSU Thermaltake Bronze 80 - 1200 Watts
Motherboard MSI Z77A-GD55
16 GB Ram DDR 3 Kingston Hyper X 1866 Mhz

I read that The Witcher 2 didn´t support XF properly at the beginning but from my understanding was patched, my google search has not given me any useful information.

So, is there an issue on my side, something i can fix or is just the game?

Thank you for your time in advance.

get radeonpro
add witcher 2
turn on OSD with settings to check both your gpu
check gpu usage on both
report back if cfx is working on both.

I can tell you with another software that the GPU usage is roughly 50% on each. If i disable XF the usage is 99%.
Basically my XF is working as i would be running the game on 1 GPU.

I'm asking you to download it because it has more options you can play with different crossfire profiles and techniques

So now i get better performance with Ubersampling but still is all over the place because the game decides to not fully load the GPU randomly. When it is using the full load it works like a charm but sudenly decides to use 60%/70% of the GPU when i am getting 40/45 FPS. Vram while it is beign used a lot it still has at least 512 MB that is not using either.

I even OC both cards to 1125/1575(6300) which is the max i can get with the Asus witout changing Bios at least or anything like that and then proceed to test itwith MSI Kombustor for 20 minutes. Clocks maintained, temperature was ok and GPU use at 99%.

I am confused with this game to be honest.

Higher OC doesn't always mean better performance in crossfire situations, you need to find a sweet spot for both cards so they can work together insync properly.

Ocing cfx is way more time consuming.

Also can you tell me your cpu usage when your gpu are only using 60-70%?

33%-42% max seems to be. Core 1 being a little higher thanthe rest.

I guess i will have to disable Ubersampling to have a proper 60+FPS constantly without dropping.

Thanks for your help.

I have a different kind of Crossfire (AMD calls that as "dual graphics") on my laptop but as i see, it has many problems. It merges the power of the graphics power of APU (CPU) and main GPU, but it lost its' focus and it seems like laptop always change energy plan and/or lost its' power, so that causes constant FPS drops.

That might be a different problem but you might want to disable crossfire for a while when trying Ubersampling in Witcher 2.

I hope you'll solve that problem as soon as possible.

I have a dual graphics, 8750D + HD 7750, i can set ubber here 20 fps(lol) works properly because i optimized the game with amd evolved AND set the game with the tweak of the enhanced edition, did you try that?
